Tip.It regrets to say that, not being aware we had tickets to give out (until we were emailed this morning to inform us we needed to provide winners), we will be unable to provide any winners in the timeframe required. The administration noticed claims on reddit earlier this month that tip.it supposedly had tickets to give out, and promptly checked our email inbox which shows no communication from Jagex in at least the last 3 months. Assuming that such an important piece of information would be provided to us in the most timely manner possible, email, we assumed that the reddit user was mistaken.
We do not understand why such an opportunity was not conveyed to us directly, as has always been the case in the past, and it was instead assumed that we would find this sticky quickly enough to create, run, and judge a competition quickly enough to make use of this prize. While we appreciate the value of these forums, and the information stored on them in addition to the collaboration between sites that goes on here, we do not believe that a purely forum based strategy for communicating vital information to the fansites from Jagex is appropriate. Our email is accessible to all our administrators, and forwarded directly to some of them, so that they are immediately aware of any messages we receive within minutes of receiving them. It does not require our staff, none of whom are regular users of these forums, to log into this site from a secure computer to read the equivalent of an email inbox that never flags new messages.
Tip.It kindly requests a return to the policy of sending information regarding opportunities related to our status as a supported site to our email inbox, in addition to any notices to all the fansites about what is available to who that may be posted here.
