I have been really out the loop with everything RuneScape related because I have been hard at work making sure I can attend this year RuneFest. This also means that my fansite is one of the biggest reasons why I want to attend RuneFest and have a opportunity to meet all the amazing Players during this special event. Currently I have been coming to this forums to see more information about RuneFest as far as fansites. Last year a lot of things was planned "Late" in a since and that is one thing I don't hope to see is be kinda rush to get things planned out.

Hearing a lot about that happen last year with Fansites during Runefest I hope its not the same this year. I am just a little curious on some things if Fansites will be apart of RuneFest this year as far as allowing Fansites to give away RuneFest entree tickets or give them to staff like we did last year.

I know my Golden Gnome for fansites idea might not happen due to it being a popularity contest. But to me I still if fansites should feel awarded for their work which will be some motivation to win one next year. I also think to really make this more less of a popularity contest I think the nominees for a Golden Gnome should be Fansites who has been around for a while and put in a lot of work through out the years. I know everyone can agree with me on this that Tip.it , RuneHQ , RuneSlayer , Zybez (If possible) and as well as RuneScape Wikia should be nominated to win a Golden Gnome. To me seeing a Fansite when a award like a Golden Gnome during a big event for RuneScape and a special event would be a big motivation to one day win something like that.

Maybe that just me but I know if either one of those win I won't be disappointed that my fansite didn't win, because those sites have been around for a while. Its another decoration to be placed on a fansite if we could have a little Golden Gnome award icon for the fansite who wins.

Yea last year we got about 2/3 weeks notice that there were tickets that fansites could give out to staff or users which meant it was actually more expensive with free entry (due to last minute hotels, transport etc) than it was if you'd bought the tickets in advance.

Hopefully we'll get a bit more notice of what's happening this time so that fansite communities can properly get involved.

Well honestly if you know my views about Foreign Fansites you would know that I would be more happy to see a foreign Fansite to win over any of the fansites I have mention. But seeing the views of Jagex, well CM Team something like this as far as Fansites and Runefest just wont happen.

But this thread was not fully about the "Golden Gnome award"...
