From what it seems on twitter tonight and various sites run by runezone, it seems that runezone and scape.tips were hacked sometime today.

I would advise keeping an eye on your own websites while informing your users on how to keep their security to a maximum e.g. strong passwords and use of passwords they do not use on any other site especially RuneScape.

Hopefully RuneZone and such recover from this asap

RuneZone's lead developer has been in touch - they are confident that the security breach has now been patched/resolved and that there is no reason to believe that a database leak has occurred. They hope to have their sites back on line later today.

With that said though Joking's advice is spot on and everyone keeping an eye on their own security is sensible, admins and users alike.
