Whether it's visual or audio based, YouTube claims, adds strikes against us, and sometimes deletes or blocks our videos from others watching them.

In the other forums we had (videoclub, not everyone will know this forum, but Dan and Regicidal will), we were given word from PaulM and Jane that our YouTube channels will be put on the "whitelisted" list for RuneScape videos/audio. Yet still my videos are being blocked.

Can we get an official statement from someone at Jagex that gives us full permission to use RuneScape concept (visual and audio) on YouTube? (Both for commercial use, and regular)

I haven't been streaming long on Twitch, so i'm not sure how copyrights work on that site, but as for YouTube, I got sent an email asking for validation so that I can keep my videos up, and it stated for me to insert a picture file confirming I have rights to use RuneScape content in my videos.

Ultimately, i'm asking a JMod to post, giving us full rights so that I can screenshot it and send it to YouTube.

So what exactly is causing your videos to be blocked?
RuneScape gameplay? Runescape audio? or something else?

No one here should be claiming against videos.
If you can email [email protected] with screenshots of exactly what you mean i can look into this more for you :)

YouTube isn't telling me what part of my videos are being blocked, it can be either RuneScape gameplay, or RuneScape audop, or maybe both.

All I get is just a copyright claim on my videos, and then YouTube sends me an email saying that I have "13 days to show proof".

I think mainly that it's RuneScape audio, but to be on the safe side, I just need a JMod to "confirm that players are allowed to use both RuneScape gameplay content, and RuneScape audio content".

EDIT: The only videos that i'm having problems with, are those with ONLY runescape gameplay and runescape audio (no other video or audio sources are used in these videos)

That's really odd, I've never had copyright strikes or issues on my videos except for when I tried to monetize them before joining my network. Not much I can do, but wish you luck sorting all that out! :P Signature

I activated monetization as I wanted the ability to upload thumbnails on my videos. As per standard (I would assume?) it ran through my videos and selected those available for monetization. All Old School and Classic videos were accepted whereas I got the following message for RuneScape 3 / EoC videos:

Your video is currently not approved for monetisation. To consider your request, YouTube requires information regarding your commercial use rights for your video.

It is not a huge problem for me - and I'm still able to upload my own thumbnails, but I was under the impression that my account had been whitelisted and thus should be allowed to activate monotization on my videos (should I chose to do that, that is).

I was also told that my channel was put on the whitelisted list, but I guess that option isn't working it seems.

I still would like a Jagex Moderator to post giving us permission (for all video makers) to use all Runescape visual and audio content (both for commercial use, and non commercial use).

This way, we can screenshot what the Jagex Moderator says, and we can send it off to YouTube to confirm we have permission.
