Greetings, fellow Lore nerds! It's been a long while since I've been truly active in the community.. I plan to remedy that, now that my quest-caping alt is finally all quest-cape ready.
That being said, earlier today my alt completed the Tower of Life quest.. and there are some interesting tidbits in there that I didn't really have an explanation for.
For those of you who may not remember, in the Tower of Life quest, we basically do everybody's job for them (so a lot like most quests) from fixing, repairing, operating, etc. a big glorified water-puzzle to negotiating with scared living beings created by some jerkwads (Can I say that on here? I don't remember...) who are too closed-minded and cowardly to deal with their own consequences, ultimately setting this Homunculus on a path of either Magic or Logic (which, to my knowledge, affects... effects... very little).
Through the quest we have a few pieces of dialogue that pertain to the well of energies that rest in the basement of the tower, the first two from the head alchemist, Effigy, the third from the Homunculus itself.
We can already create gold, we can already transform matter from one thing to another, and now we have the ability to create life itself! We owe much to the power of Guthix, for without the life essence he left below ground, we would have never been able to bring this tower alive!
Long ago we found a strange source of energy that we believe was left behind by the great Guthix. He used to create life with such ease.
They use essence of Guthix power. Create tower pump this from ground. Make me with godly power. Dangerous.
Now obviously this is back when the lore still dictated that Guthix was the creator of Gielinor, and that Saradomin and Zamorak were two largely unknown rival Gods, whom Guthix sometimes referred to as "my brothers," so a lot of people thought the trio were creators..
