Some things concerning Wen have made wonder if it's possible that she may be planning to usurp Jas as the lead Elder God and it is my hope that you, my fellow Lore hunters, will provide evidence supporting or discrediting this theory. If someone has already mentioned this, then I apologise as I have not seen it.
But concerning the theory, you may be asking why I have come to think this may have credibility. Truth be told, it's more of a hunch than anything backed up by solid evidence but here are the main points of interest for this theory:
1. The possibility of separate Wen locations and the choice of the chronicle names. To clarify, the locations are White Wolf Mountain and Ice Mountain and the chronicle names refer to all the Elder Chronicles except Wen's sharing the same name in our journal.
2. Mah's Corruption.
Addressing the first point, it is widely believed that both location are halves or the whole of Wen. The first part of my theory is to challenge this and suggest that perhaps Ice Mountain(or somewhere in that region), the location of "A Chronicle" is not Wen herself but actually something she created to further her agenda. As to exactly what it would be, perhaps her own attempt at an Artifact, acreation akin to Mah's or something else.
The second, more notable point is what exactly caused Mah's Corruption? My answer is that when the Elder Gods started to wake, Wen woke prematurely and attempted to drain Mah in a bid to become stronger than Jas or gain an advantage over her and thus corrupted Mah instead of outright killing her. Examining Mah's Core gives me the overwhelming impression that Wen attacked her but why would an Elder God attack one of their own, especially when their numbers are decreasing?
I believe it's because Wen wishes to replace Jas.
Two reasons come to mind as to why:
1. She blames Jas for their decline or sees fault in her operating methods.
2. She wants to be the sole Elder God. I'm Godless although I consider myself Independent/Unaligned I "We create ourselves through life. Every victory, every failure and every lesson learned from them... Make us who we are. Once we have lived life to it's end, that is when we realise who we are... or more accurately, who we were."
