I was wondering why Gielinor has so many races like vampires, mermaids, gnomes, ogres, cyclopes, dwarves, elves, werewolves, humans, centaurs, dragons etc. but no fauns or satyrs. Is there anything about them in the game (excluding the SGS outfit and Doris describing Evil Dave “like a young faun”)?
It would be awesome if they were released and had their own quest series. Sometimes, I think they would live in the Enchanted Valley and worship Saradomin. What do you think?

I suppose they could be one of the myriad species thought to have gone extinct during the god wars. Most beasties seemed to have put there money on humans going the same way, that is for the most part just my opinion. But at the end of the Gielinor's humans reached the top of the heap, so no mater lol. The purpose of adventure is to shine light into dark places,
Poke monsters with a sharp stick, Then steal anything that isn't nailed down!

I wouldn't be surprised if they exist offscreen somewhere tbh (probably on Zanaris or something like that Enchanted Valley). Wouldn't be the first time 'endangered' and 'extinct' things and creatures that aren't 'supposed' to exist were just hiding somewhere until we stumbled into them somehow.

I'm quite surprised at that too but maybe Jagex will introduce the race in the future. I've always assumed fauns and satyrs were associated with minotaurs. But in other fairy tales, fauns and satyrs were associated with fairies. However, the way Runescape has depicted minotaurs make them sound more barbaric, savage and beastly than the real-life tales I've read about minotaurs. The Runescape minotaurs appear to be less capable of reason. So, perhaps Runescape may make fauns and satyrs completely different to minotaurs.

Since sirens have singing voices to lure sailors to their death, I'm expecting fauns to be capable of hypnotising humans with their magical flute. In fairy tales, they are perceived as spirits of forests that either guide or harm humans.

However, since I am an elf, I would not be hypnotised by such base-level magic. So, good luck to you humans if Gielinor does discover their existence.

To be fair, the Minotaur from the original Greek myth(s) wasn't necessarily tied to Fauns and Satyrs (who in turn actually are associated with each other depending on which mythology you look at) to begin with as far as I'm aware. And it was described as pretty ferocious if I'm remembering it right. So it's not too far of a stretch to say that in the context of Gielinor that they may very well be different things too.

I find it likely that fauns and satyrs are/were denizens of Cheannanais. Depending on the fate of the world, they could either be extinct or completely exclusive to it, which is why we haven't seen any of them here.

The fact that the outfits are very fae-like, complete with wings, may indicate they're simply a larger form of fairy.
