Hello, I recently started playing osrs and I came to wonder if it is lorewise possible to have druids that do engage in combat.
As I was doing the druids quest for herblore I read on the wiki that they honor guthix and are a peaceful folk that mainly practice herblore etc.
So I was wondering if there'd be battle druids, if they even can exist within the lore and in what form would the magic they wield come? Lightning, attacking vines/roots or would it mostly consist of ethereal purple claws?
I suspect the lore of rs3 and osrs to be intertwined but I havent played rs3 so i'm not sure; i'm mainly thinking from an osRS perspective though!
Unfortunately, RS3 and osrs lore are 2 wildly different species.
And while I don't believe osrs lore is an explicitly forbidden point of discussion, I think you'll find that none of us have any real interest in talking about it.
Yea, 99.9999999% of the people in this forum focus on RS3 lore.
That being said, yes there are battle-druids. See: Kaqemeex and other druids during TWW, as well as those that made up the Balance Elemental at the end of the God Wars.
Void Knights are guthixian, so I think that they could be considered to be "battle druids".
Crux Eqal (from RS3 lore, quest While Guthix Sleeps) is also a guthixian organisation that focuses on defending the world. It consists mostly of druids, so they also fit the 'battle druid' description.

I was thinking a bit ago that it would be nifty if there were more summoner types you could fight. (right now, as far as I know, there's only the troll summoner in troll invasion and he's weaksauce)
