Anyone else notice Zemouregal?

Not sure if this is a slight mix-up error or something but did anyone else notice how one of the Mahjarrat Deathstones was for Zemouregal?

I thought maybe he had died on the way to the last ritual when reading it but then I take a few more steps and what do you know; standing right there.

Was there another Zemouregal? or am I just seeing things? Wattson main btw.

If you read the stone's memory, it details the story of a Mahjarrat named Zemouregal who travelled to the ritual site in order to perform the Ritual of Enervation (how Mahjarrat make babies).

Unfortunately, the mate of this Zemouregal was injured along the way and was no longer capable of completing her half of the ritual. As a result, Zemouregal poured as much of his own power into the ritual as possible before seeing a flash (likely one of the bolts of lightning the memory says were frequently striking the area) and dying.

Given his comment earlier in the memory that he wished to sire a son whom would inherit his name, we are led to believe that this Zemouregal was the father (or at least an ancestor) of the Zemouregal we personally know and loathe.

I think I read the first few boxes before being like -- "Did he just now die."

Went to check, never returned to stone.

Also I figured it was talking in the persona of this modern time Zemouregal. Wattson main btw.

Guess it's been answered multiple times, but, yes, it was another Zemouregal. Current speculation has it this was Zemouregal's father. As to why they share the same name, it may just be Zemouregal Sr. naming his son after himself because some people do that, although there may be a fun observation to be made. As the grave stated, Zemouregal's mate was too weak to contribute enough power to the ritual, so it wound up being mostly Zemouregal's energy that brought his son into existence. In that, you might say the offspring of the two was more Zemouregal than his mate.
As a side note, it's presumable Zemouregal's mate also died during the ritual, so shouldn't her gravestone be there too? Did somebody forget to bless it or something? OR MAYBE she didn't actually die... although, in all seriousness, I imagine it just wore away or Jagex didn't think about it or something. I reserve the right to relentlessly edit this post many, many times over.

How many other Zemouregals were there? I mean did each and every one just pick up any old corpse they could find, dress it up and call it a 'soldier' like our one does? And in the case of the one in DoD, is he the same one as today's or his father who survived in that dimension? Prepare for hell on RuneScape in Naval Cataclysm!

I'd imagine it's "our" Zemouregal - Gypsy Aris' talk about how our quest will help reconcile the differences between the two timelines leads me to believe that said differences are actually minimal, probably mostly concentrated on Varrock (and as of the Halloween event, on Fally and northern Asgarnia). I mean, in the uchronia's timeline, Loarnab basically became an *EXACT* equivalent of Zaros.
The Asgarnian ale must flow.
