Please give an Armadyl Quest!

My understanding is that a quest called "Rite of Passage" has been floating on your lore desk for nearly a decade now. It would mark the beginning of a quest line for Armadyl.

Why is this important?

Because Armadyl is one of the major gods in the Sixth Age lore, having survived a world event and,
being the most statistically likely to win Sliske's Endgame without TWG's intervention

and in spite of this, Armadyl is the only major participant of the Sixth Age whose story has yet to be explored even at all, untrue of every other relevant god.

Even V, a non-participant in the Sixth Age wars, whose only quest featured him immediately dying, has more quests than Armadyl. Seriously, what's up with that?


I don't understand this lack of urgency to push his story either- should this not be a priority when this quest has been at your desk for this long? There have been multiple quests and world events where Armadyl's stake and actions have influenced those storylines. You've gone out of your way to emphasize some of the ways he is different from Saradomin, and yet you won't actually let us get a closer look at him until you need to involve him in an Elder God/Dragonkin/Sliske quest? Do you not actually want players to consider following him, or what?

Speaking practically for a moment, I understand that your developers sometimes looks for feedback from players on what to develop next. I know how often you have put this quest on a poll vs multiple other options in the past. But really, can you please stop doing this?

This quest keeps losing in the polls because, unless you tell us otherwise, it probably will not introduce some game-changing reward that skillers or PVMers will put this on their to-do list. So they'll seek the choices that clearly will offer those kinds of rewards instead. Maybe if Armadyl's story had already started by now, that fact could change.

So please work on this. Lore/Armadyl lovers like me would be grateful.

Several years ago, Mod Raven was working on a quest called Rite of Passage, which would have revolved around the aviansie. I imagine Armadyl's past would also play into it. Sadly, it got shelved, and to my knowledge, the last word we've heard on the subject was in 2018, where Raven mentioned that it was being redesigned due to advances in the lore.

Given the Elder God plotline is seemingly coming to a head in the coming months/years -- and with it, the possibility of one or more gods, including Armadyl, getting killed as part of it -- I would think the time is right for this to happen. But whether it will, or even if it'll ever happen is anyone's guess at this point. No news for three years is a worrisome sign.
