Theory on Sliske's true plan

This is entirely speculation, by the way (and probably wrong.)

Sliske has a copy of The Divine Delusion in his laboratory, which discusses the subject of souls. The author believes that a being's soul can be transplanted into a "compatible" host.

Now, Sliske has a conversation with the mysterious voice where they discuss the Stone and the Staff of Armadyl.

Sliske: "Thank you for the tip-off about this delightful thing by the way, I would never have found it on my own. It never occurred to me that the staff could be used that way."

WHAT way? It seems to me that the Siphon has a function that Sliske and the voice need for their plan to work.

Later in the quest, Sliske uses the staff to absorb a portion of the player's soul. Now we go back to considering The Divine Delusion: a soul can be transferred into another host if they are compatible.

My theory, in short, is this: Sliske plans to transfer the player's soul into the mysterious voice for some nefarious reason. The voice needs Sliske's help in doing so, and his Big Game is actually a front for his real plan.

I think Sliske was refering to using the staff to track the stone via the dragonkin.

Anyway his plan is obvious...he plans to make Slayer a 120 skill and release multiple "elite skills" so he may bore everyone in Gielinor to death. Once we have all died from the boredom of skilling, he will revive us all as wights and have complete control of the world. Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

I forget the exact context, but Sliske mentions during Missing Presumed Death that he used the Siphon to track down the Stone of Jas by using it on Strisath to...I guess follow some kind of magical trail back to wherever we hid the Stone after Ritual of the Mahjarrat. I assumed he was referring to that during his conversation but I guess it wouldn't be the first time they threw a curveball with this story. O_o

As for the theory, I'm not sure our soul is going to be used for the mysterious voice. With the current theory being that the voice belongs to Oreb (who's currently dead thanks to Nomad, but potentially still exists in the underworld in some form), I think it's possible that Sliske is trying to manipulate him to get a soul of his own by working with what he took from us to somehow reverse engineer it or transfer it into his own body to get power.

As for the big game? Could be that the mysterious voice has a grudge against the gods (most likely Saradomin if it's really Oreb) and wants them dead...or maybe the Stone can react with god energy to do something as crazy as revive a spirit into a body under the right circumstances. And considering the game is based around killing gods and rewarding a single winner...who's to say that the ultimate plan isn't to hijack a god's body for some reason?

Hmm doesn't the staff fuse things together, while the sword slices things apart?

Kinda feel fusion is the plan but the god game as the voice said "Enough! This will bring them?" seems they are more after everyone by gathering them all in one place.

Perhaps they want to absorb the power or souls of all the gods at once and put it into the stone ,voice or a host body. Perhaps a giant power surge that is condensed to put into 1 person or entity is the goal.

I would imagine nomad would come into play as a host perhaps since he absorbed all those souls without dying.

It isn't his master he plans to give our soul to, it's himself like he tried to do at the end of Kindred spirits but threw a tantrum instead of succeeding right there and then.

He wants an afterlife, his master has the ingenuity and expertise in souls to make that happen, so Sliske now knows how. But of course it's a give and take relationship. We now know what Sliske gets out of the deal, but what does the master get out of gathering the gods?

And as souls are made fuller, wholer and shaped by experiences. It's why Sliske set about those challenges for the World Guardian in Kindred Spirits, to shape the WG into being more 'like' Sliske, so that when the time comes, Sliske can take the WG's soul for himself.

Exactly. At RuneFest, they compared it to an organ transplant. The title of Kindred Spirits refers to how we were supposed to think like Sliske (Which I never thought at all during the quest, so I think they failed at making that apparent, but I won't fault them too much for it), which would make our soul more compatible to Sliske's. That might why he waited until the very end of the quest to take from us, rather than just do it right away. I mean, aside from him being angry at us.

As for the Staff, Sliske was apparently just minding his own business, but Strisath wandered into the Shadow Realm and brought the Staff with him. Sliske took the Staff from Strisath, and used it to locate the Stone.
