So, we know V was around during the 1st or 2nd age all the way to the 3rd age.
And we know that the enslavement of the Auspah happened during the second age.

So, was V around when the Fremennik enslaved the Auspah?
Did he order them to capture and enslave the Auspah?
Did he personally enslave any of the Auspah?

Considering during Hero's Quest he talks about hating people who he sees as "slaves to the gods" and says he's a Hero who "defends the weak" it'd be pretty hypocritical for him to have enslaved the Auspah.

Although it is possible that this all happened while he was still in exile with the Moon Clan and he hadn't ascended to Godhood yet.

Anyone have thoughts or sources to add to this?

I think it's more likely the Fremenniks themselves, or at least barbarian offshoots, rather than V. Neither the Fremenniks nor the Moon Clan really worshipped V as such; instead the Moon Clan saw him as the founder of their own community and way of life (hence starting up Runecrafting and teaching the Clan their magic while the other Fremenniks shunned them out of fear of angering the gods), whilst the Fremenniks looked up to him as a hero who went out on adventures, something they pride themselves in.

Both subsets are apparently Guthixian for the most part, or at least claim it. V himself was a Guthixian before ascending, and afterwards still continued to respect him and left of his own accord when the Edicts came down. There may or may not have been chieftains in the past who were tyrannical, as there are also the barbarians which are supposedly Fremennik tribes who travelled and conquered. These barbarians destroyed the Runecrafting altars as well as generally being very aggressive, and there are other offshoots from the Fremenniks such as the Mountain Tribe and the Miscellanians.

During Hero's Welcome his memories say this:
"I have seen worlds where the gods have been victorious. Most of them were...adequate, if a little stifled. But so many of the so-called good gods terribly oppress the mortals that worship them. And that's not even counting the evil gods and the worlds they ruin! The desolation of Tuska. The battlefields of Bandos. The fire-wastes of the Queen of Ashes. The corpse oceans of Xau-Tak. Every time I see one of these broken worlds, I remember why it was agreed with Guthix. Gods and their wars are something to be rejected."

"The other gods of this world are fools or villains. I only ever had time for Guthix. Who will approach us first for alliance or conquest? Arrogant Saradomin? Hypocritical Armadyl? Insane Zamorak? Why can they not see that they use their powers to hurt people, when the people should be free of such yokes and responsibilities? Each man and woman carving their own destiny with their own hands, not forced into slavery under a god."

Sigmund the Merchant says:
"I can tell you what I know about V, which is that he stayed with us for ages. He defended us during the opening parts of the god wars, to such a degree that the other gods stopped trying to attack us. Make no mistake, they were far more powerful and had more followers, but V's presence made every Fremennik fight like a warrior of legend."

And V's journal says:
"Following this vow, however, I found myself once more called on to fight. Saradominist forces were moving along the coastline, sending before them preachers and silver-tongued evangelists to convert the locals. Those who opposed the move found themselves facing armed fanatics ready to crush the unbelievers. Readying a disguise as a simple farmer, I infiltrated one such village so I could..."

However, this is kind of far from the point I really wanted to discuss.

Notice that V is not mentioned to have defended the Fremennik who enslaved the Auspah.

I'm guessing he gave them an ultimatum of either to stop the enslavement of the Auspah or he'd no longer protect them, and they decided to keep their slaves.

V
had some issues it seems like with any god, even
Armadyl
, except
Guthix
. I wonder how he felt about
Seren
?

There's no mention of
Zaros
or the Pantheon by him either. I just am curious where he stood among the opinions of others and the relations he had with other gods.

It depends what you mean by that, from context clues we know that the Fremennik who enslaved the Auspah were from Relleka. And we also know that V defended them by fighting a basalisk on the coast and forcing it into a cave, which then became the slayer dungeon.
Now considering that this made the coastline safe and we know the Ausaph were kept as slaves on the coastline so they could cook rockcrabs it can be assumed that V did this before the Auspah were enslaved, although since we don't actually know a time it could've been while they were enslaved or after they were enslaved.

We also know that somewhen V returned to Relleka and was attacked by Tarshak.
We also know that almost directly after that Saradomin's forces came in trying to convert and take over the Fremennik.
But again we don't actually know when this happened. It likely happened during the 3rd age since Saradomin started really expanding his empire during that age. However it is also assumed he had some territories in Kandarin during the Second age, so it could've happened during then.

So he has defended them before however it definitely doesn't seem like he defended them during Char's rampage but it also seems like it was probably over so quickly he wouldn't of been able to learn about it and get there in time to defend them.
