Super short and sweet:

Why are places like the Brimhaven Dungeon, or the QBD Lair super elaborate and fancy with all kinds of designs, when the Dragonkin were/are in constant pain?

Remember some of them found a way to distract themselves from the pain, while other used those location as well. SO yeah.

Perhaps their pain is embodied in their art styles, a modification of original dragonkin art but with more violent tunes, as to reflect their suffering

I prefer the architecture of the castle seen in A Tail of Two Cats & their castle above Daemonheim personally. It's disappointing we've seen none of that recently, outside of OSRS. Just recycled Brimhaven/Grotworm and Daemonheim dungeon graphics (the latter of which wasn't even made by the Dragonkin and has none of their architectural style >_> ) You never were our brightest star, Khazard. 'Vermin slaughtered like lambs'? What does that even mean?

I think it was a situation of channeling your emotions into your artwork to distract yourself - like a musician writing depressing songs. They distracted themselves from the pain by keeping themselves occupied - now, though, with how much more the Stone has gotten used, it's just not a feasible solution anymore. Mods pls notice me

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if they enslaved/created something to build for them. -

The Dragonkin built the castle on the surface, which Bilrach then tunnelled under and created the massive complex of dungeons (Daemonheim). The Dragonkin have remained around the area though, and Kerapac has apparently taken part of Bilrach's dungeon as his own. You never were our brightest star, Khazard. 'Vermin slaughtered like lambs'?
