I have tossed this idea out a few times now:
I would really like to see Dungeoneering implemented in OSRS. It was one of my favorite activities in RS2. But not as a skill!
I think it would be a perfect distraction and diversion. Imagine that a dungeon hole opens up at various times of the day throughout Gielinor. Upon entering this dungeon it is themed to the environment you found it out. For example, if you entered it in the Tzhaar area it would be tzhaar themed with Tzhaar npcs and weapons. The dungeon would be a similar size to The Gauntlet so it would not take too long to complete.
Unlike The Gauntlet, dungeons can be a combination of puzzles and/or bosses. These could be puzzles and bosses from RS3 or be complete re-made for OSRS. I personally think migrating some from RS3's Dungeoneering would make sense. They would need to be updated, of course, to match the environmental aspect of it.
I think this makes more sense than it being a minigame, which is what most people ask for. This gives it a bit more purpose in the Gielinor world and adds even more randomness to the idea of exploring dungeons.
