I think many agree with me when I say that the Beta for the new DT2 ring upgrades was highly disappointing.

I was really looking forward to what would be done with these rings, especially the Warrior ring, as it has never once seen use in the game, as it has always been outclassed by the Berserker ring, among others. To see the versions shown in the beta was a major let down, as the new rings, especially the Warrior ring, are underwhelming and and Warrior is still useless.

I believe this quest offers a new opportunity to finally give these rings unique niches, instead of just stat sticks you wear on your finger. I wanted to propose some changes:

Berserker Ring: No changes needed.
> Jagex wants this ring to just be the "I hit harder and nothing else" ring, and I think myself and most players are fine with that. Therefor, no effect.


Warrior Ring: Add the effect: Missed Melee attacks grant a stacking 3% accuracy buff until your next hit, capping at 15%.
> The Warrior ring has always been the "red-headed step child" of the rings. It's been considered essentially useless for its entire lifetime in the game. This is why I believe it needs a much stronger effect than the other rings. This effect is not immediately outclassing the flat damage buff from the zerker, but it offers a niche utility, such as purposely stacking misses before a DWH spec.


Archer Ring: Add the effect: Bolt Special effects have a 25% chance to not consume the bolt.
> The Archer ring upgrade that we saw honestly doesn't need much, as it has almost 0 competition for the Ranged ring slot anyways, so a minor QOL effect is all I would add. This is will mostly benefit ironmen.


Seer's Ring: Add the effect: Curse spells have 5% increased Accuracy.
> It's hard to say where the upgraded Seer's ring will be in comparison to the Brimstone Ring, though I believe the Magic Damage boost will certainly set it above the Brimstone. For that reason, again, I think a minor, niche effect is warranted here.

Let me know what you think.

Honestly, I could accept the Archer and Seers rings not having any effect at all, as I think they'll do just fine as is. But the Warrior Ring absolutely needs something. So by far, the most important opinions I want to hear are on the Warrior Ring, because as it stands, It will launch as dead content.

To be honest I'd like it if they'd take the strength bonus off the upgraded or make it smaller. right now with a +4 strength bonus that's a guaranteed max hit and sometimes 2 max hits just from the ring slot. I'd prefer to see more special abilities from the rings instead of stat boosts as well.

increasing stats would be kind of ok if the game was only pvm but it's not. we're at the point in pvp where it's not too hard to damage stack for over 99+ hp. So increasing the strength bonus is going to make pvp more and more unbalanced unless we start adding new damage-reducing gear like the ely. I think it would be cool to see the Berzerker ring keep the same stats maybe more acc but have a special that double hits 10% of your damage 10% of the time for a successful hit or maybe even less.

I like your idea of the warrior ring but even what you're suggesting sounds less powerful than the current B ring. I think you would almost have to buff the acc by 5% per hit up to 25% to get the dps close to where the B ring is now.

as for the seers and archers rings I like the initial recommendations

My goal wasn't to make Warrior's Ring strictly better than Zerker. It was to grant it a niche function that produces viability for it, without making it the new BIS. I'm perfectly happy to see the Zerker remain the highest DPS melee ring. But I feel that the Warrior needs a function, rather than just perpetually being useless. I like the concept of a ring which you wouldn't normally keep on for the fight, but is a very useful initial equip because it greatly increases the chance of those critical defense reducing specs hitting. I can definitely see a world where people heading to Corp get off 5 flower swings on a random enemy with the Warrior equipped to stack up 15% bonus accuracy for their opening DWH spec.
