I can't believe Jagex has come up with the new skill of 'Taming'.

No matter if you think you'll make it 'feel' different...it's fundamentally just
Summoning and the purpose of it - under another name.

You guys are slowly making what is meant to be Oldschool...into just a second version
of RS3.

Let OSRS keep at least some of it's identity...and forget such a dumb idea.

For anyone who likes the Summoning skill...it already exists in RS3 - and they
should feel free to go play that instead of compromising OSRS.

I used to play RS3 when it was just called 'Runescape'...and quit at some point after
EOC - as many others also did.

A big problem for me that the introduction of EOC in the other Runescape changed the games identity to much from what I originally signed up for...and eventually it drove me away from RS3 permanently.

It was such a breath of fresh air then in 2013 When Oldschool Runescape came
along...and the Runescape as I knew and loved had basically returned.

On and off since that first day back in 2013...I've been playing OSRS.

I've really enjoyed the game having a separate identity from RS3 until now...but
honestly if 'Taming' is introduced into the game - I'm going to really have to think
hard about continuing with OSRS.

I will actually be so annoyed if the Taming skill is released into OSRS...and I'll
honestly be definitely quitting OSRS permanently - just like I did with Runescape
when it was ruined.

You at Jagex are to eager to make major developments for the game - and are
to willing to let people vote in bad ideas into OSRS...heading for potential
disaster.

The game will become a circus...and just feel like RS3.

You will also greatly devalue all existing pets. people have achieved.

Use some sense Jagex - and take the 'Taming' skill option off the table...I'm
begging you.

Otherwise...just go ahead and change the name of Oldschool Runescape
now to RS3 Version II - and be done with it.

Please seriously consider all I've said...Thanks!

By the way Jagex...I have a Max Cape , Quest Cape , Achievement Diary Cape , Music Cape , and Champion's Cape.

It will be a shame for me if I quit OSRS...but if the landscape gets cluttered and ruined by
the 'sideshow' of beasts from the Taming skill - I simply won't be hanging around
to be any part of it I'm sorry.

The new Skill should have always been 'Sailing' if one must happen in OSRS.

It sticks to what was originally considered for a new skill in 2015...plus gets the game
a new skill and/or content - while also keeping OSRS it's identity strong, and off the path
to becoming RS3 version 2.0

I've looked at the Blog...but it will still fundamentally be Summoning - and just another version of it.

Every time I log in...I'll just feel like I'm playing RS3 - and that OSRS has finally given up it's last piece of identity and uniqueness.

I never wanted a new skill into OSRS - but had no choice in the matter ultimately.

So then when the new skill being added is very much just a variation of 'Summoning'...and that will be visually very impactful to the game overall - as well as greatly impact gameplay in general...I'm especially against it.

I started playing the other Runescape long ago...before Summoning and Dungeoneering even came along.

A few IRL friends and I really took to the game and played almost every day.

Even though many updates came along in the form of new quests and items etc...the game still kept it's identity and original appeal.

Slowly some major updates came along that dramatically altered the game...both in appearance and gameplay - such as Summoning and EOC.

For me it eventually got to a point where the game ended up so altered from what I was originally signed up for...that I no longer could relate to it like I once could - and I no longer felt I could continue on with it.

Even though I had put a great deal of time into Runescape...I had to walk away.

When Oldschool was released...I was so happy that the game I'd originally fallen in love with had returned - along with all of it's original appeal and identity.

I've been on OSRS on and off since the first day...and until now I've been happy with many of the changes - as well as been okay with letting it also evolve and grow a bit.

It's getting to the point now though where I can see that if 'Taming' wins the poll...I'll be
very sadly back to that point in the past when the other version of Runescape was ruined for me by too many major changes - and I'll be walking away again.

Jagex now listen to much to what players vote for...as well as being to ambitious with new developments for the game - instead of seeking a balance with old and new players...as
well as remembering why this game was initially created.

Players seem to always vote for the most ezyscape or OP option...and current Jagex game developers just seem single focused on pushing for major changes.

After playing the game for so many years...and being a loyal Jagex customer all this time -
I just wish they would listen to the long time players a little more when they have a major update in mind.

Just because the ambition of Jagex moderators want something in the game...or it passes vote - doesn't mean it's best for the integrity and identity of the game.

If you allow 'Taming' into OSRS Jagex...you've learned nothing from the past - and will just be repeating history for long term players like me.

Crisis averted...and 'Taming' failed in the poll *Phew!* :)

Thank God for that - and I won't be quitting the game after all !

I don't want a new skill in OSRS...and don't feel it's necessary.

However...I'm glad if there must be one that it's going to be
'Sailing' .
To me this new skill aligns well with the 'adventure' theme of the
game...and keeping OSRS with it's own unique identity in
relation to RS3.

Thanks Jagex...plus congratulations on the new skill - and I wish
you all the best with the development and future of it.
