Hey guys, I have seen a high influx of advertising/gambling bots around the Grand Exchange and other areas around the game, and its a problem across all the worlds. I understand you have P-Mods to mute these bots, but due to the bots being so advanced they see a Silver/Gold Crown and they either logout or teleport away to avoid a mute.

My suggestion is to make Undercover P-Mods where the silver crown is hidden to other players but not the Mod. Give the undercover PMods the same permissions to mute rule breakers. I would recommend keeping P-Mods with a crown so people know that they are around as a deterant.

My suggestion is here because I genuinelly care about the OSRS community and the integrity of the game and I think this would be a great way to keep players from breaking rules and lower the scams I have seen around the game.

I know over the years this has been suggested many many times.

I honestly cant see it happening because people will claim they are P-Mods and cause further issues.

Best way to deal with the Advertisers is to keep reporting them.

The thing is Jagex do ban them but the saddest thing is another bot is added. It's an on going issue that sadly is causing a lot of upset and distress to the player base.

Reporting is a great option though. It really does help. Time consuming yes but the bots are removed but replaced.

People claiming to be P mods wont cause much upset. The undercover P-Mod idea is to litterally hide amongst the crowds.

I report a lot of bots at the GE and I know more will be made, but having someone in the shadows will be great as a quick fire solution to mute the bots before they have a chance to cause harm.

I apreciate the speedy response, but I do believe this idea can work. Let's hope that the J Mods take notice and actually poll it.

what about the people theyll scam?


best not give scammers another means to scam

best to keep this as it is, pmods are not rule enforcers, so no need for them to be undercover.
