Two main ideas

A) WASD enabled camera. Sometimes i load up OSRS on steam by accident and the only reason i get off your client is because I play with a gamepad like many of other players. Theres no reason why these buttons aren’t already in osrs in 2023.

B) Double right click and hold mouse rotate. Pretty self explanatory, double click the right mouse and hold, then move the mouse around to adjust camera. If this is an advantage issue when it comes to pvp, the function could just be disabled in certain areas?

Love the game since I first created this account in 03ish, but the camera has always been annoying to me from the start. Bless runelite for enabling wasd function.

Might I recommend trying out the Middle Mouse Button Camera Control setting? It's what I use all the time and functions essentially as you describe the double right click control. I greatly prefer this method because it allows me to control camera angle and zoom with a single button.

Secondly, if you use the Runelite client, search your Plugin hub for Key Remapping plugin and enable it. By default, it changes your typing so that you have to press Enter before typing in chat, and allows you to remap any of the keys. It comes with WASD camera control set up by default. Now with added

A bit off topic since your question got answered above; WASD movements were asked in the latest survey regarding the Sailing skill so it's certainly possible to do this from a technical point of view and you may see more official support for that soon.
