With Old School being more community driven as to what gets put in the game I began to wonder what kind off skill could benefit new players and old players that could also play a role in how stories and lore unfold for future quests. As well as bringing in an aspect of competitiveness and a skill that could benefit the other 23 skills.

I thought it would be cool to have the ability to create your own slayer tower, agility couse, potion factory, or even raid. Then came the idea of Faction/GodScape.

How would you level the skill? Similar to contracts or slayer tasks. You would be assigned to complete the contract of that task or do tasks within group/community sandboxing for points. An engaging way to train all other skills as you won't know what the next task will be or can focus on a certain skill within one of the skill specific sandboxes.

Similar to construction you could have your own instance to be able to put a certain number of rooms/building stations of skills to train. Be it a foundry, lumber mill, or bosses.

Aside from your personal instance that can be changed based on what your focusing on personally, there can be community/group sandboxing instances throughout Runescape on all skills. Similar to player owned house portals. Outside that instance can be a voting booth of passive boosts in that instance the following week or month.

This is where competition comes into play. This gives skilling a vital role in deciding which faction wins that season. Each player can pick a faction aka God to help their rule or stay in power. That faction will receive points based on number of tasks their disciples complete.

Within the group sandboxing there can be an item sink, used to create different workstations. IE so many talismans and runes to create an elemental rune altar, bones and bricks to create a worshipping stand/church. They could upgrade what gets upgraded first or what passives are active in the instance the following week or month.

As for rewards. Exp given based on winning faction, completing tasks, and group sandboxing.

Blessings and banners could have more benefits and use cases in the game. Being a faction based skill how can they be upgraded? How can it be used to train other skills?

What if their were rewards or even creatable items that could increase speed or experience gained in other skills. IE insignias, enhanced blessings, and enhanced banners or rewards that can be used on blessings, armor pieces, and set pieces. Similar to socketed items. IE putting an insignia on graceful for 2.5xp boost, 5% chance of skipping to end of course.

Hunter chance at catching multiple.

Mining getting more ore, higher xp, higher chance not depleting,

Prayer chance bones aren't used, multiple bones used

Runecraft rune ess not used, higher xp, chance at double runes

Agility chance to skip to end of course, higher xp

Slayer double loot drop, task extension, higher xp

Ect

Unique Items like totems or statuettes that can be put in ammo slot or kept in inventory that give certain bonuses. IE a totem that allows for chance not to use a dose or use a piece of food. A item that will clear or drop your inventory for you.

Unique drops in sandbox raids. Be it new weapons/armor or other items that can benefit other skills.

Adding blessing to skilling sets that make them more useful and more desirable for certain skills.

There could also be a PVP sandbox where new bosses or multiple bosses could spawn. Increasing the risk as well as rewarding points for that faction be it getting kills within the PVP sandbox or killing the bosses within it.

There could be a sandbox for all skills essentially. All players play a role in their faction winning or staying in power. You'd be able to see which faction is leading in that season.
With over 23 possible sandboxes it spreads the points.

There could also be faction headquarters where players can also vote on passive bonuses within instance

IE getting double points once faction has reached a threshold. Being able to work quicker in instance. Being able to send saboteurs within a faction to disrupt an instance or to have a mini event at the other factions headquarters that slows points or steals points.

The skill would allow for many new quests, lore, items, and a competitiveness to the skill that is unique in many ways than the traditional skills. Allowing players to team up within the factions, dictate which faction or god stays in power. High scores for top point earners, task completions.

Higher levels of Sandboxing/Godscaping could also bring new ways of training skills in personal instances. Similar to how people use POH for training prayer at altars it could be a way for players to train other skills. Increasing the xp gained within another players instances or within your own instance. Allowing more creativity of how levels are trained and community engagement.

Group instance for example could have 5 workstations for that certain skill. When creating your own instance you could choose one skill or multiple workstations between different skills and have a maxium room/station amount as your level increases.

Fishing instance for example could have fishing station or boat like trawler, a sorting station, packaging station, shipping station. fish depending on your level you can sort the higher level fish depending on your level. You could then take the fish to the next station to have them processed for shipping(like they being sent to headquarters or being sent to stores). As your faction increases points you could choose upgrades for quicker time in each station or more fish caught on boat. Receive points and faction xp on finishing the complete task.

Hunter IE Similar to fishing could have similar stations where you gather, sort, warehouse, package and send off.

Mining IE could have the mine, cleaning, shipping and packaging.

Smithing IE could have furnace, press, anvil, warehouse for the items that need to be created, then shipped.

Woodcutting IE could have a gathering spot, saw, sorter, warehouse, and shipping station.

Runecraft IE could have essense that isn't pure, station to make it into creatable runes, warehouse, altar, shipping.

Thieving IE could be similar disabling traps but teaching a saboteur to steal or raid other faction headquarters.

Slayer IE could be use head or capture a monster, kill or teach an npc to kill or help kill, then ship drops.

Agility IE could also be one where you teach a npc obstacles so they can then be sent off to thieving instance for saboteur.

Herb IE gathering, cleaning, potion station, warehouse, shipping

All other skill IE could be similar to above ideas or based on other ideas for processing and or ideas used in minigames.

As for receiving points for faction and xp it could be individual or group based threshold. IE your faction has to have 1000 fish in warehouse before its sent to headquarters or once you have contributed 100 fish to the warehouse it will be sent to the headquarters. 1 faction point is earned for your 100 fish contributed and once the faction hits 1000 or 10000 it could be 10 or 100 points for the faction.

Points earned by faction could also be broken down into tiers, 1-20,21-40,41-60,61-80,81-99. based on the tier items sent to headquarters so if out of 1000 fish 501 fish were Tier-5 that faction would get 51 points.

As for personal instances when it comes to the skilling you could have like a servant do one of the tasks within the stations. Or as you level you you could hire multiple workers to do tasks within your instance. The items then could be stored similar to Miscellania. Or you could do it yourself as well. Those items could be sent directly to headquarters or to the specific skill instance to increase your contribution.

Another idea before the season ends for the winning faction would be to add a battle of the factions. Within this event/instance their could be PVP and use of skilling to help ensure victory with your faction/god.
