Permanent Ironman changes
As most when you create and Ironman you want to protect the status from potential hacks or even just accidentally deiron. But when I locked my status years ago, I always knew that if I ever had a change of heart I had the option to remove the permanent status through player support.
Recently with life becoming more time consuming I decided I didn’t want to keep up with the maintenance of keeping up with supplies. As a nearly maxed Ironman with most endgame gear I’m pretty happy with what I achieved and just want to enjoy the game again.
But while trying to remove the permanent status, I’ve found out that as of September 2022 they changed the way it works. Now permanent/limited Ironman accounts can only be downgraded to unranked group ironman accounts. With there solution if you want a main is to make a new account.
I’m more frustrated that the way it work changed with little to no announcements. If it was like that from the beginning, no worries I’d be content with my decision. It’s more the fact that I made it ‘permanent’ with the knowledge that if I ever changed my mind it could be reversed.
I hope there’s some discussion about this as I don’t understand why the change without much or any announcement, and I don’t see the harm in allowing players to choose how they want to play.
