Hello,

I'm sharing my thoughts on the recent polling about whether sailing would be the first new skill added to RuneScape. You had asked for feedback from those who said no. To give you a bit of context, I am one who said no.

My thoughts on sailing being a new skill added to RuneScape: For the past 15 years, I've heard of sailing being mentioned as a potential addition, but to me, sailing still feels like a meme. I believe that as a community, we might have jumped to saying yes to this skill simply because of the meme. I feel that the other two options, Shamanism and Taming, had much more potential not only in terms of utility but also in terms of replayability compared to sailing. It concerns me that sailing might fade away as quickly as it was polled for.

Please keep it civil; this is not a complaint about whether the skill will be good or not. I'm merely expressing my concerns.

I would love to hear your thoughts on why it may be good.

I can't think of a single game that has something even close to Taming. We could have had something completely unique to OSRS and we squandered it.
