I just filled out the survey for the new skill. Interesting seeing some of the ideas out there. Personally, enjoyed thinking about having a new companion. Made me wonder about the idea of a new skill. What if we replaced the skill with the companion who then had its own set of combat levels. There would be three choices of pets. Melee, magic and ranged. Each one would train its respective skills relevant to its type. Could be a dragon for magic, a wolf for melee and an aviansie for ranged. Combat style could be set and might even be relevant to command your companion into the correct combat style such as in barbarian assault. This would leave high scores unaltered as we would not directly have a new skill but rather a whole new companion to train. Maybe have separate high scores for companions.
Training ones companion could come in a variety of methods and leaves for an open route to improve upon. There could be battles between each others companions like a poke battle. This would be like the duel arena but for companions. They could also gain general experience in any combat and perhaps some other minigames that are focused on working with other players instead of against them. They would act like a thrull in regular combat, except, one that levels up. Maybe even doubles as a mount. In the minigames, however, one would have commands to choose from. Perhaps as emote icons.
Wanted to throw the idea out there and see what people think. I can see reason for being skeptical. Personally played from 2004-2007 and then got back into it in 2020. A lot has changed already. Tried finding the market in fally park then found out about the ge. A companion would change a lot but maybe that is ok. When I used to play, skill additions to the game were a thing so why not now? Anyways, my idea was really to sort of skip the skill and just add companions that act in a way like a new skill but without changing the high scores. Interested to see what people think. Semaj out!
