Hi! Wanted to share the elevator pitch for my idea of a new skill. Obviously this isn't fully thought through but perhaps i could offer a different perspective. The name of the skill would be commands and it would be considered a combat skill.
The idea of the skill comes from the shouts in Skyrim combined with the supportive buffs of a bard.
By increasing the skill in commands the user gets access to certain buffs and the ability to lower opponents offenses. Buffs could be PVP/PVE and skilling oriented (eg. +5 herblore).
The highest levels offers both buffs to yourself and others closeby making it valuable in raids.
The skill would replace prayers when activated (think of switching spellbooks) meaning you could go for a high DPS build without protection prayers increasing risk both in PVP and PVE creating interesting scenarios.
As to training the skill I am unsure but it could perhaps be trained by drinking potions, making training passive trough the leveling process and still possible to max by spending money. Prices of potions would increase initially but still keep some value as not everyone would dare to use it without the ability of protection prayers avaliable.
Hope I explained it well enough!
