So many people talk about summoning, but i believe it could be more awesome than that. Instead of the regular summoning we came to know lets make it "Taming" or "Bestiary" basically it could work as summoning but instead it would be more like a combination of taming a creature, training it lets say level 5 so it has higher combat stats to aid you in your battles. It shouldn't be on a timer but more like one life timer, if it dies it dies. Then you have to go to Beast master to buy a beast which firstly you need to tame then train before going in to combat. Since it would be "taming" we could have creatures that already exist in RuneScape. So that you could tame a creature of Gielinor. Lets say you want a mage based aid in your battle so you go to Tamer and tame a Fire Fiend at level 15 Taming. Then you go out to Beast taming grounds and train its stats up let it grow, equip it with items and perks that could not only increase the power of your animal but also may be a gold and item sink which would be amazing for the economy. At the same time Fire Fiend could be a helpful companion in your Firemaking skill, and so could the other elemental or any other npc help you in skilling. At higher levels there could be a selective pool of tame-able creatures that shouldn't be to OP, well like taming the KBD would be way too broken, but lets say taming a green dragon to assist you with its dragon fire. Possibilities end at the last npc, so it's easy to get creative with it. Balancing is the hardest part, how much HP to give, how strong they should be so they just don't easily out dps you. Xp in skill is gained through taming and training The NPC and it gaining combat or skilling xp. Similar to Rs3's invention.
TLDR
New skill, other variant of summoning. Instead its taming and training already existing creatures of Gielinor. Beasts have one life. and they aid you in combat and or skilling. Since they have no timer just one life they could be out following 24/7.
