It seems with the topic of melee re-balancing, that people are focussed on nerfing Fang, particularly in Slash which I fully agree with.

I feel an overlooked item in this discussion Is the Soul Reaper Axe. It´s very difficult to use, even at Vardorvis where it's BIS. Much more stressful and at times slower, due to needing to eat more.

My suggestion is increasing the cooldown of the axe to 1 minute, and make it so weapon switching doesn't reset it.

This is quite the buff, but lets consider a few things:

- It's very time consuming to get, equal in RNG to getting a ring piece from all DT2 bosses.

- Current mechanic relies heavily on KO´ing wih specs, if you don'´t you're stuck in a cycle of hit -> spec -> hit -> spec, until you finish the kill. Not at all "natural" to use.

- Cooldown is way too punishing, it resets between most boss kills and even sometimes while eating. Start of kill is -40hp, same if you switch weapons. Yes you can gain that back with spec, but it forces the beginning to mid encounter to be more stressful, as you're lower hp and want to preserve spec for last hit.

Yes it´s BIS for melee slayer, but the meta even for Ironman heavily favours barrage anyway.

If this buff was to be implemented, I think it would be a good idea to make the weapon charged, as it puts it closer to Scythe. Maybe via Awakened orbs? I don't have a strong opinion here.

No i don´t own any Soul Reaper Axe, I tested it out months ago and sold it a while after.
