They allowed permanent ironman to remove permanent status by submitting a support request, until 2023 they stopped. I had been thinking about removing my permanent status for years. I turned it on like four years ago when I was a little 1k total ironman who knew nothing about the game and now I am nearly maxed and am bored of playing the game solo and I sent a request to Jagex to remove my status. Now in 2023 their response is that there is nothing they can do. I can become a unranked group ironman or make a new account. Yeah let me just make a new account and get all 15 of my pets again and max again??? Takes thousands of hours that I do not want to spend replaying the game. I don't get how being an unranked group ironman is any different to Jagex than de ironing me. It makes all the difference in game play. I still cant use the GE and I only get to trade maybe 4 people woohoo. As far as Jagex, I don't get how it makes a difference. I still lose progressing on the highscores, and who knows what else they care about. Honestly I wish permanent iron man status did not exist at all, what's the point of it? To stop people from being impulsive? Sounds like their problem. Runescape is supposed to be all about creating my own journey. How can I create my own journey by being forced to stay in a limited game mode. I think its silly I hope they change the policy, I would love to be a normal account and get to do content with my friends that I am locked from, without having to level up an entire new account.
