Resource management subset focused around pillaging previously undiscovered lands. The problem with uncharted waters, nobody has ever returned to share the maps. Perhaps we can find out why ourselves? Creatures of the depths meet with the forsaken shorelines of shipwrecks.
When talking about Uncharted waters, it is high risk high reward. You must first build up a familiarity with your ship and courage to even attempt going where nobody has gone before you (and lived to tell the tale). The creatures of the depths are ruthless and cunning causing you to be pushed against the jagged rocks on the shorelines. I hope you brought a survival kit as you need to fashion your own way back home! If you are lucky you will make it to shore on a distant land safely and have access to a plethora of materials. Your ship can only hold so much, and you still have to make the journey back. Will you risk stuffing it to the brim with goodies? The sea creature known as greed is more than happy to escort you to the bottom of the ocean to spend an eternity with them.
I like the idea of washing up on a random shoreline around the world with no map. It takes approximately an hour for your memory to come back and start recognizing where you are again. Your ship will then become one of the sunken ones for others to find. The heavier it is, the more likely it is to fully sink.
