When looking up the parameters for making rations on the Wiki, it stated that OTHER MEAT could be used, and did not specify exceptions.
So I thought about the bird meat that just gets wasted every time I do a birdhouse run, where I'm primarily wearing some of my WCing gear anyway. I filled my log basket with yew logs, grabbed my iron spit and tinderbox, along with the usual items for a birdhouse run, and went to Verdant Valley to try things out!
I imagined showing up, dismantling a birdhouse, pulling out a couple logs, building a fire, and putting together a new birdhouse while roasting the meat on a spit before wrapping them in leaves! It felt like awesome synergy and immersion.
Imagine my shock, and disappointment, to find that roasted bird meat can't be made into rations! Why? Amongst many of the whacky things that don't make sense in Forestry, why can't we have something that does?
Sure, it's click intensive, and you'll have to do a little inventory management, but that's in exchange for having a convenient use for a meat that, frankly, only serves to litter the ground of Fossil Island, otherwise!
Jagex, spread some of that forestry spice over to the birdhouse community, where it should have been spread to, in the first place!
