I am really hoping this gets seen, but I am completely unable to play this game on my computer anymore after trying to add an Authenticator to my account to get my skull sceptre imbued. I was brought to a page where it told me to create this Jagex account I keep seeing advertised.
For years I have used my old work laptop to play osrs and I could download RuneLite just fine, so I was very surprised when I could no longer play the game after doing this. I really wish there was simply an option to download a non-Admin restricted version, similar to how RuneLite does it. Jagex posted that they are considering it, and until then I will be on an involuntary hiatus from this game.
Hoping the change to non-Admin comes sooner rather than later. RuneScape got its massive appeal because it was a browser-based game. Now that there are multiple installs required, please at least make it fully accessible to everyone, without needing to jump through more hoops than absolutely necessary.
Or at least make the warning more clear that not everyone can continue playing the game on desktop after creating a Jagex account. Never in a million years would I expect to be unable to play this game. Please refund my remaining membership.
