If you put the new skills which all sound fantastic, you really need HD or new tech graphics with it because taming and sailing is more about visual, and less about actually the osrs mechanics and gameplay. With the exception of few minigames added in future, it will be a skill for visual and aesthetic viewing pleasure so putting those in with crap graphics 2007 won't complement well.

I love the taming and sailing skill because YES it will give nostagia to players like who played pokemon and loved adventure games. Don't say you play RuneScape and don't like adventure because THIS IS an adventure game. Part of what makes a good adventure game is unique, good looking graphics. Who wants to sail open waters finding new land and monsters where the water looks like blue blocks??

one of the things I want to address in why some people don't want a new skill is because they have like PTSD of the other skills they dread to train like mining and agility. Those are "boring" and it doesn't help watching a the same robotic animation over and over. Humans don't like watching a robot perform 100s of the same exact repetitions over and over. This is why you watch nba or nfl over robot basketball, because we don't like watching a robot perform the exact same repetition over and over and like watching humans do it because it's different each time.

I can see why sailing might have problems and would have to be very good like B0aty says. He clearly says he hates skilling. If it is basically agility in water, you are ruining the potential for this skill. But it's hard to please the stubborn people who say I want osrs to be osrs but want a new skill. I dislike training mining and agility, because I'm basically watching a colored robot perform some exact programmed animation over and over until a number. It just isn't fun when it's like that. This is exactly why we enjoy watching sports and we wouldn't enjoy programmed robots play it. Although we know how the sport is played, like players running back and forth with a ball, we know it's different each and every time. We wouldn't watch robots do this because it's not fun to watch. People like to see things that pleasing for their eyes.

A suggestion is to find a way where it is pleasing to watch your character do skilling. Find a way to make skilling fun and not where you find it boring to watch.

Make skilling less robotic and fresh, invigorating and it won't be dull. Humans and bots are not the same. Robots are good at being told to perform the same repetition over and over for long periods of time with perfect consistency but a human absolutely cannot. It's impossible for any human to high alch with the exact same timing over days.
