The players have said that they prefer a variety of training methods as opposed to a single gameplay loop, so I have a suggestion on how to add variety.

One activity players could do that has variety could be Shifting Islands, where some kind of magical anomoly is causing the islands to constantly change and be unmappable.

You could earn "AFK" exp by navigating around and charting them, heading back to port, getting new coordinates, and repeating.

For less AFK exp, once you chart a Shifting Island, you could go explore the Island and do a few different activities:

*Very small "dungeons" with pre-determined rooms, similar to Chambers of Xeric, so it would always be random. At the end could be a random superior slayer monster (or something), so you will need to bring a variety of equipment with you. The dungeons would be somewhat procedurally generated with just a few rooms to have a small skilling challenge, a pvm challenge, and the final boss.

*Rescue missions: The islands are shifting again and you have to help rescue animals and citizens. pick up and lay traps to save the animals and use your other skills to allow the citizens to escape and get to your ship. You may have to construct bridges, burn fallen trees blocking paths, or mine rubble.

*Piracy missions!: The island is surrounded by Pirates. Outmaneuver them and sink their ships, and take their loot.... Or.... Get recruited by them and put your agility and thieving to the test on the island. If you're caught, you've got to use combat to get yourself out of the tricky situation you've just found yourself in.

*Museum Expiditions: Gather as many items as possible to bring back to the museum before they're lost forever.

After completing an Island, you would receive exp based on how well you did.

Hope you guys like my suggestion and come up with other ideas to compliment it. Cheers

Definitely a great start to diversifying the training methods. I think building on this is important so folks on the fence don't feel like it's 'just a minigame ' or 'fishing trawler as a skill'.

Kind of reminds me of the ethos behind Mahogany homes for construction. Gives a different style of training that is still so thematic and fits into what the skill is.
