Introduction to Pursuit


Pursuit
is a community of diverse players built on principles of
member equality
and
social maturity
. Though Pursuit is a social clan first and foremost, we pride ourselves on a roster with
wide ranging levels of experience
and areas of focus within the game. From the fully maxed to those taking their first steps into Gielinor —
no matter your goal, find your way with us.


Weekly events
are held, including friendly “skill of the week” & "boss of the week" competitions, group skilling, and learner events to teach players raids. Our
active clan chat
— both in-game and in our Discord voice server — is a cornerstone of the community, and you will find it warm and welcoming to all.

Clan Rules


1.0 – Follow
all
Jagex Rules. Failure to comply with this will result in immediate removal from the clan and Discord server. This includes attempting to bypass rules via loopholes, such as with screen names.

2.0 –
Treating other clan members with civility and respect
is compulsory. Pursuit has no tolerance for racism, sexism, homophobia, or any other form of identity persecution. This includes screen names. Any of the former, excessive trolling, or bullying will be met with a ban.

3.0 – The following areas of conversation are
discouraged
in the clan chat at any time: politics, gambling (including staking), illicit and recreational drugs, sexual topics, and any criminal activity. Know your audience and respect people’s boundaries.

4.0 –
PvP Rules:
Killing of clan members in PvP is not permitted, unless mutually agreed upon in advance. Staking & Death-Matching in the wilderness is not permitted.

Discipline Plan for Rule Enforcement


When necessary, the three-strike system is enforced by all Pursuit staff. This is a courtesy, and severe breaches of the rules may not merit second chances. Final dismissal from the clan is left to the judgement of the Administrators.

Strike System:


– Strike 1: Warning from staff to stop a behavior.

– Strike 2: Temporary removal from the chat.

– Strike 3: Permanent removal from chat and Discord.

Pursuit Policies


1.0 – Name Changes: Name changes should be reported to Staff using our #contact-staff channel in Discord.

2.0 – Activity Tracking: We utilize online XP tracking services to monitor the activity of our members. To maintain membership you must earn at least 50K XP per month. Failure to do so will result in removal from the clan due to inactivity.

3.0 – Item Lending: We recommend members offer the other member collateral and both parties take screenshots. If cases of stolen items or gold arise, the culprits will be a dealt an immediate permanent ban and the case will be passed on to RuneWatch without exception.

4.0 – PvM Splitting: If clan members are participating in a clan activity —all or overwhelming majority are clan members—and no loot sharing scheme is agreed upon prior to a drop, it is assumed that there will be an even distribution of loot. Conversely, any public mass —e.g. Nex, Corp, Nightmare—will be assumed to be FFA unless members agree to split amongst themselves in advance.

For iron-type accounts in raids, it is assumed they will receive no split and not have to split their loot. Any scamming will be reported to RuneWatch.

5.0 – Ranking Structure: Do not beg for ranks in the clan chat. If you have questions about the ranking system that cannot be answered within this document please direct a private message to Staff or Administrators.

6.0 – Discord Server: Display names on Discord must match your in-game name. If you prefer to have an alias on top of your RSN, you can utilize the following format:
ALIAS | RSN or RSN | ALIAS

7.0 – We recommend having Administrators added, Discord DMs open, or your Private on so that we can contact you if an issue arises within the clan. If we can't contact you, then we hold no responsibility for you not being informed of the situation, or the ability to assist you. discord.gg/U8nHDVE

Ranking Structure


We use an activity point system of our own design in combination with member tenure to award promotions. Members earn points simply by being reasonably active in-game; gaining experience on the monthly tracker, time spent in the clan, attending occasional clan events, and so on. Full details can be found in our Discord server but rest assured it is a very relaxed system that helps us catch when players go inactive.

Member Roles


Gnome Child

- Brand new member
- Trial period after joining Pursuit

Recruit

- Eligible after 2 Weeks at Gnome Child
- Discord member

Corporal

- Eligible after 2 months at Recruit
- Reasonably active and a friendly member of the community

Novice

- Eligible after 3 months at Corporal
- Active and friendly member of the community

Sergeant

- Eligible after 4 months at Novice
- Longstanding member of the community

Cadet

- Eligible after 5 months at Sergeant
- Active and friendly member of the community
- Acknowledged as a loyal and longstanding part of Pursuit

Lieutenant

- Eligible after 6 months at Cadet
- Reserved for the most longstanding and veteran members of Pursuit
- Pillar of the community and reasonably active throughout their tenure
- Chosen on a case-by-case basis

Retired Staff

Pursuit has no formal leader and the Administrators are joint owners of the clan. Changes are decided by the Pursuit Admin Group, and each has their own area of focus within the clan.

Colonels | Elder Moderators | Accented Star


Elder Moderators are among the most-trusted people in the clan. They often provide counsel to the Administrators.


Commanders | Senior Moderators | Three Gold Stars


Senior Moderators focus on admitting and ranking new entries to the Clan. They provide oversight on the community through long-standing contribution.


Officers | Community Moderators | Two Gold Stars


Community Moderators have a wide range of responsibilities, from hosting events to helping maintain experience trackers and roster data. They keep the chat and Discord a healthy place and are responsible for a sizable portion of the day to day running of the clan.


Masters | Clan Moderators | Gold Star


Clan Moderators help maintain a good atmosphere in the clan and Discord chats and offer assistance in the day to day responsibilities of the Pursuit Staff.


Trial Staff


New staff are selected through an application process open to all members, though we always consider preference towards
Corporal Rank
and above. Selection is entirely democratic, sourcing votes from the entire pool of current staff. We open applications every few months.

The trial period for new staff members is 2 months. During this time, new staff are encouraged to explore their place within the team. discord.gg/U8nHDVE

Special Roles


Competitor | Competition Winner

– Temporary rank awarded to the most recent Competition Winner and ranks above all roles except for Staff. Comes with a matching Discord role that is retained until the next victor claims the crown. This most often applies to Skill of the Week and major events such as Bingo.

Doctor | Alt Role

– This rank represents a member's alternate account. As we maintain membership near the game's 500-member limit, we only rank alts from Staff members, though alts are always welcome as guests.

Legend | 5-Year Member

– This Discord role recognizes members who have been in Pursuit for five or more years.

Beast | Bingo Champion

– This Discord role recognizes members who have won a Pursuit Bingo competition. It also recognizes the Most Valuable Players and Reigning Champions from the competitions.

PvM Info


Pursuit
is a social clan above all else, but we also have a very healthy PvM contingent within the clan. Daily raiding — including Hard Mode Theatre and Challenge Modes — is a given, and group events from Corporeal Beast to Nex are numerous. Inferno coaches and raid teachers are virtually always available to members.

You'll find our PvMers to be very laid back with an emphasis on enjoyment first. Many of our current main raiders were part of hardcore PvM clans in the past, but were driven out by edgy environments and vitriol. We have a strong and diverse roster of PvM & Pet Hunting focused players who will welcome you into the fold without reservations.

Pursuit welcomes all levels of player, and we have something to offer each of them. From God Wars to Hard Mode ToB, there's something here for you if you value good raids, good friends, and good times. discord.gg/U8nHDVE

Event Info


We are an extremely active group when it comes to events, and they come in all shapes and sizes. We try to put on at least one official clan event per week, though often they are even more frequent. There are also plenty of "unofficial events", such as PvM Grouping, spontaneous skilling gatherings, and so forth. Examples of official events include:

Learner Raids
that take inexperienced players from start to finish in the Theatre of Blood or Chambers of Xeric

- Special large scale events such as
Bingo
every six months that have massive gold pot rewards, special Discord roles, and more

Skill of the Week
competitions that take place every other week and reward members with special in-game ranks and Discord roles

Community Events
such as Hide-and-Seek, Trivia, Community Bankstanding, and whatever other fun takes our fancy

Boss of the Week
events that involve completing a challenge or farming bosses as a group (such as all doing Barrows together on the same world)

How to Apply to Pursuit and Join In-Game


Join our Discord server at

and visit the #apply-here channel to fill out our application.

To join in-game, search for "Pursuit" in the Guest Chat tab (green faces). Once in as a Guest, hop to World 491, navigate to the Clan Chat tab (blue faces), click the "Settings" button, and finally click the "Apply" button. If this does not work or you have further questions, please contact a Staff member via guest chat or private message for assistance.[/b][/gold]
