1. Introduction

Winter was founded on September 6th, 2018 as a social clan. We are here to have a great time make friends along the way!
If you’re looking for a laid back, friendly, and helpful environment, this is the clan you.

We'll often joke about it, but there's truth in the saying "Winter is Family". We've worked together to create a positive atmosphere for everyone, wherever you are in your journey. If you're new, we enjoy coaching inexperienced players and giving them the chance to participate in raids, PvM, and other events. Our veterans are active, knowledgeable, and ready to help! If you've been around the block a few times, you'll find friends to share in your grinds and accomplishments, and push you further along the way.

If you don't have a referral, don't worry - you may still guest in the clan and get to know our community! If you've been around a bit, you can ask any current member to endorse your application.

Discord is essential for all Winter members. We use it for announcements, clan discussions, tracking splits, and many other things. If you do not have Discord, please create an account before applying to Winter.

3. Official Application for Winter

Please keep an eye on your DMs as an Officer will message you about your application. This may take a day or two depending on how busy we are. Feel free to join as a guest while you wait.

4. Rules

Rule #1 - Culture First

We've spent years cultivating a particular culture in Winter. Some like it and fit right in, some don't. In addition to us evaluating whether you fit our clan during your trial period, this time is also for you to see if you like it here.

Because of this, topics not explicitly covered in the rules will be left up to the discretion of our Officers and Staff. Sometimes, people may just not be a good fit. We'll do our best to communicate that clearly and ahead of time if that's the case, but ultimately have to make decisions that will be best for the clan.

Winter's Three-Strikes

Winter usually uses a 3-strike policy, at our officer's discretion.
• 1st offence – may result in 1 hour timeout
• 2nd offence – may result in 1 day timeout
• 3rd offence – may result in ban from in-game and Discord

Personal Conduct

• Treat all clan members with respect
• No multi-clanning (except CCs for temporary, specific activities)
• No toxicity or elitism
• No scamming, luring, or PKing clan members
• No leaking personal information of clan members
• No begging/asking for donations
• No offensive names

CC & Discord Discussion

• We have a zero-tolerance policy for hate speech including sexism, racism, homophobia, or other discriminatory remarks.
• Avoid sensitive topics such as politics, race, religion, etc.
• No discussion of IRL or in-game gambling, betting, or staking.
• No NSFW content (including posts, profile pictures, banners, etc.)
• No spamming of the clan chat or Discord chat
• Banter is allowed, but if a fellow clan member is uncomfortable, please stop immediately to avoid further conflict
• No advertising/soliciting your personal business, products, websites, etc.
• Do not advertise or discuss methods to break game rules (RWT, botting, etc.).
• Follow Jagex's Terms of Service

Officer/Staff Communication

• Your Discord nickname in our server must match your RSN. Only Officers can edit this, so if you change your RSN, let us know in #clan-request so we can update it for you.
Applicants, we'll do the first one for you after you apply.
• Leaving the Discord server or in-game clan will be treated as your official resignation. If you accidentally leave, let an Officer know ASAP that it was a mistake.
• Do not beg for ranks. Visit #ranks🍌/#faq❓ or reach out to @HR Department for suggestions on steps you can take to rank up.

5. Ranks

Keys

Gold/Silver keys are the leaders and owners of Winter, responsible for maintaining the clan and acting as the head of each Staff department.

Staff / "3 Star General"

Staff are responsible for running the clan from within various departments: Applications, Events, HR, and Discord.
Our Applications Department screens all new members to the clan and heads up recruitment.
Our Events Department coordinates Boss of the Week, Skill of the Week, clan Masses, Bounties, and other events.
Our HR Department oversees moderation, mediates clan disputes, and facilitates rank ups.
Our Discord Department updates, improves, and fixes the Discord server.

Officers / "2-Star Generals"

Officers are responsible for the day-to-day implementation of clan matters and assist our Staff as necessary. They help give direction on the clan's future and ensure the clan operates smoothly. If an Officer is very invested and desires to specialize, they can join a Staff team to get further involved in the clan.

Mods / "1-Star General"

Moderators are responsible for maintaining the excellent community we've cultivated at Winter. They offer help and guidance to members while upholding the clan rules. They have proven to be valuable members of the community and have successfully completed the Clan Moderator application process.

Liuetenant / "Silver Star"

• Our most loyal and dedicated members
• Very active in game and on Discord
• Takes part in most clan events and group activities
• Looks to host clan events such as mini games, bossing trips, social events, etc...
• Bumps the forum
• Knows most members and helps frequently
• Has been with the clan for over a year

Rank Perks
• 1:1 communication with Staff and Officers
• Direct influence on events (such as candidates for SotW / BotW votes)

Sergeant / "3 Nana"

• Active in game and on Discord
• Takes part in clan events and group activities
• Has begun to take ownership in the clan, hosting events, etc.
• Knows and helps members
• Has been with the clan for around a year

Rank Perks
• Increased feedback opportunities
• May input on member rank-ups
• May request coffer funding for hosted events

Corporal / "2 Nana"

• Relatively active in game and on Discord
• Takes part in clan events and group activities
• Has been with the clan for around 6 months

Rank Perks
• May have one alt account ranked in the clan.

Private / "1 Nana"

• Passed their trial and is now a full member of Winter
• Fits the culture of Winter and follows the clan rules
• Is willing to be active in game and on Discord

Rank Perks
• Has access to all clan resources, events, and competitions
• May request DJ access to use the music bot in voice channels

Trial / "Snowflake"

• Application has been approved by our Applications Department
• Currently on a trial period to ensure they are a good fit and follow the rules

Rank Perks
• Has access to some of the clan resources, events, and competitions

6. Info for Trials

During your trial, you will be evaluated on your character, activity level, and behavior. At the end of your trial period, we will decide whether you will be ranked up or removed from the clan. We aren't cruel or strict, but we work very hard to promote a culture of maturity, equality, fun, and friendly competition in the clan. Only those that fit this culture will be accepted.

What can you do as a Snowflake?

• Talk and socialize in the clan chat and on Discord
• Participate in recurring events like Skill of the Week and Boss of the Week
• Attend most special clan events
• Host your own PvM trips
• Attend PvM trips (at the discretion of the members present)
• Bump the forum thread, follow socials, recruit new members

How long does a trial last?

It depends on how active you are! Trials can range from a couple weeks to a couple months, though most trials last between 1-2 months. We tend to batch these together to make the process easier on our staff.

We realize this is longer than many clans, but feel we more than make up for it with how much trials are able to participate in.

What happens when a trial is over?

Your trial can go one of three ways:
1) You pass and are promoted to 1 nana
2) You do not pass, but showed potential and are allowed to retrial
3) You do not pass and are removed from the clan
