Hello! I'm wondering if I can get some help/advice from the community.

I'm an unranked group ironman. My ultimate goal is to reach level 60 defense with level 18 combat, so I'm going for defense pure with a tiny bit of wiggle room (I can go up 3 hp levels before I would go up a cb level i think.) The other account in my group has no restrictions. I would like to try to beat shilo village.

Currently, I Have 36 defense, 10 hp, 1 att, 1 str, 1 magic, 1 range (12 cb). I have access to ring of recoil.

What would be the best way for me to beat Nazastarool? Could I simply recoil it? Do I need to deal at least 1 damage? Could I deal one damage and have my other group member kill it?

Been doing some research, and saw Mac H's video on YouTube and it seems like it should probably be possible somehow, but not quite sure what the best approach is.

Appreciate any insight!

You don't need to deal any damage, you just need to be the last player to attack the monster (which can be done via recoil).

The problem though is the despawn timer. As stated in the wiki, each form has a 5 minute despawn timer, so you need to kill off that form of Nazastarool in those 5 minutes. That's a lot trickier than it sounds.

A number of years ago I (along with many others) helped a level 3 friend attempt to complete the quest. They were using rings of recoil, and those of us 'spectating' were going in a circle casting Vengeance Other on the player for the additional damage reflection. It took us a number of attempts before we eventually completed it if I remember right (I also can't remember if this was pre or post EOC, so that may alter things slightly too). Looking at the video you mention, you'll need a good amount of food as well to keep healing up.

I don't know how GIM works with regards to accepting aid from others in that manner, but that may throw an extra wrinkle in the plans too.

Regardless of what you try, good luck - completing that on a low level account is an achievement regardless of what you end up having to do to finish it up.

Appreciate the advice!

So regarding the first part you said, you're sure I can just end it with a recoil? I know for biohazard for example, I had to actually deal 1 damage (at least I think) to get the key in my inventory.

Thanks again. If I complete this in a reasonable amount of time, perhaps I will follow up on this post.

Quick update incase anyone comes across this in the future trying to achieve a similar goal.

I beat shilo village as a (now) level 14 defense pure and it was very easy actually. I brought in a high level main (not in my ironman group, not even an iron man). The higher level friend/main can do nearly all the work. You just need to get the last hit (as applejuiceaj mentioned), even if it's a zero.

In my scenario, the main poisoned Nazastarool and brought it's health down very low on each stage. On my pure, I just made sure to go hit a zero and run back to my safe spot, then let it die of poison. I got the warning that I may not recieve kill credit, but it didn't matter for the purposes of the quest, and I was able to get the corpse to complete the quest.

Defeating Nazastarool in Shilo Village with the restrictions you've mentioned (36 Defense, 10 HP, 1 Attack, 1 Strength, 1 Magic, 1 Ranged) is certainly a challenge. Here are a few approaches you can consider:

Ring of Recoil: The Ring of Recoil can be used to deal damage to the Nazastarool, but it may not be enough on its own to defeat the creature. Nazastarool has 68 Hitpoints, and a Ring of Recoil only reflects 10% of the damage taken. This means you would need to take at least 680 points of damage (in this case, recoil damage) to defeat it. You could try to combine the Ring of Recoil damage with other damage sources.

Assistance from Your Group Member: If you have another player in your group who can deal damage, you could work together to defeat Nazastarool. You would need to deal at least one point of damage, and your group member can then contribute to the rest.

Alternate Accounts: If you have access to alternate accounts, you could use them to deal damage to Nazastarool and work together to defeat it. You would still need to deal at least one damage to be eligible for the drop.

Exploring Other Damage Sources: You might want to consider other sources of damage that can assist you in defeating Nazastarool. For example, you could experiment with items or methods that deal passive damage over time.

Keep in mind that defeating Nazastarool with the restrictions you've set can be quite challenging, and it may require some creative thinking and experimentation. It's essential to communicate and coordinate with your group member or any alternate accounts you might use to find the most effective strategy for your specific situation. Good luck with your goal!
