This is an issue that appears to have been affecting people since late last year.
The developers do appear to be aware of the crash and also appear to be trying to address this issue.
From what I have read online, people have managed to address this issue through several different means, though they all appear oddly disparate...
If you are using a multi-monitor setup, try launching the game whilst only using 1 monitor. Also update your GPU drivers if applicable.
One developer has claimed the issue to be caused by problems of using too high a resolution monitor with too low a spec computer. As such you could also try lowering the resolution of your monitor through windows display properties.
If using an Nvidia GPU, you can also force a resolution and FPS cap to the program through Nvidia control panel and by adding Oldschool runescape to the 'manage 3d settings' page and then the 'program settings' tab. This is used for controlling the behaviour of specific 3d software.
If and when the devs find this forum, they may ask for further information specific to your PC and logs regarding the client crashing.
