Occasionally I'll get the urge to play runescape, but as I go to subscribe I keep forgetting that membership is $12.50 a damn month.

Not paying that for this. Just a reminder that membership prices are too damn high.

No $12.50 is not a lot of money, but its not worth it for what this is considering the alternatives at similar price points.

Then skill and earn in-game money and buy Bonds from GE and redeem them for 14 days free membership each and earn back the money by doing super fast money making methods in member worlds and keep the cycle! All for free!

Actually, I would not bother skilling until you had enough money to pay for at least a 45 day membership. Start off pvming until you get enough money that you do not need to pvm for at least 3 months. Then consider doing quest and skilling. Until you get your levels above 70, the chances of you being able to skill a bond is very low, and would require you to work 150 hours every two weeks for the bond. Pvm will get you the bonds sooner, then you can get your skills up.

Yeah okay, making 7.2m in free to play is not reasonable. Neither is 7.2m every 14 days just for the privilege of keeping my membership. That sounds stressful and would suck the fun out of it.

This game should be $7.50 a month tops. I’d probably leave my membership running all year. That would be nearly $100 for jagex. Instead of the $0.00 I pay them now. Guarantee I’m not alone.

With the most recent $2 price increase, for every 1 person that has quit because of the price increase, it takes 5 subscribers per month to make up the difference in lost revenue.

Inflation is a poor reason too. Somehow Xbox live has remained $60 a year since the late 2000s, WoW has stayed at $15 a month, games have only just recently increased in price by 15% for the first time in 30 years. Even a snickers bar has remained at about $1 since the 90s.

There’s a cap on how high you can price things before no one buys it anymore. The price is straight bulls**t and it’s hilarious how anyone defends this.

You do realize that you are asking them to use the same price that the game had 15 years ago. Inflation has caused the prices of EVERYTHING to more than double in that time. 12.5 is the equivalent of $5 back then.

Actually in addition to my above comment, you are factually incorrect. Punching in $5 from 2005 would actually be worth $7.79 in todays money according to inflation calculators that you can find via simple google search.

Jagex is owned by another company and I do not think they make their own prices. If anything they have the chance to pitch how the game should be monetizes and there lies the problem.
Jaxes has to balance between making the customer and their owner happy. Typical lose-lose situation.
