I created an account back in the earl ly 2000s. I decided to get back on amd see if it was still there. Had to redo everything with Jagex log-in, but got it working. It had my old character's name and I started playing. Took me to a "starter area," makes sense since it's on my phone and not a computer. Get done, and I go to the main world... Yet I'm level 1?? I had a character in the 70s or 80s so many years ago. If it remembered my character's name, why is everything else gone? Is my old character gone and just the name remains? I need help understanding, please...

No, even if existing OSRS players returning to OSRS on their phone, they won't be sent to a "start area". The new "start area" and a lot of new content on mobile are exclusive to new RS3 Mobile players. Ther "new start area" is called Devondale.

Hey, Shadow Rando.

There are two versions of the game: RuneScape 3 and Old School RuneScape . If you ever had an account prior to February 22nd, 2013 , then the account and its progress would be in RuneScape 3 . Every single player had to start off of Tutorial Island when Old School RuneScape came out in February 22nd, 2013, which is a backup version of RuneScape from 2007.

In any case, you may find more information below:

1. RuneScape and Old School
2. Levels & Items Gone? [Info]
