It was not even mentioned in the blog post about the Beta 2, but Umbra's Vow received a hefty nerf alongside its level req being bumped up from 84 to 88.

In the original Blog and Beta, Umbra's Vow drained your target's Defense by 10% of damage dealt, up to a cap of 15% of their Defense level.

In the new Beta (and mentioned nowhere in the blog) it now only drains by 5% of damage dealt up to the same cap of 15%.

When the original blog posted, I did a bit of math to find all the places this prayer would be able to hit the cap, and thus, be maximally effective; It was a short list, and even shorter if you wanted the effect capped for a majority of the fight, but still compelling enough to look forward to.

Some of the original math I did was calculating that, for the Umbra's Vow to be able to reach maximum stacks, a monster needed to have an HP stat of at least 1.5x that of their Defense level, at which point you would reach the 15% cap right as their HP hits 0.

Now, the math to find the new target ratio is very simple, as the prayer has received a flat 50% nerf, thus, a monster must have an HP total of at least 3x their Defense level. Meaning this effect will be maxed out for significantly less time against your target, if it's still able to reach max.

The level 84 requirement and faster ramp-up of the original had it set to be a very viable alternative for players who can't use/get a DWH yet.

So I guess what I'm asking is, why was this nerf necessary, yet supposedly insignificant enough to not even mention in the blog alongside all of the other prayer changes?
