It's sad that RuneScape has become part of the American hemisphere after lasting for so long. It's not a coincidence that these changes happened right after the Carlyle investment Group happened to buy Jagex.

RuneScape was always diverse, we had heroines, female warriors and adventurers too. RuneScape was always a diverse world that paid respect to the real life inspiration it withdrew. Yes, we had mythical and fantasy things but RuneScape combined those assets to still keep it real. It's not too strange to think that most of the guards would be male and be the dominant skin colour of that region, and frankly I don't know why someone would have an issue with this in the first place. It's not like the RuneScape world only had white males in it. One just had to step outside Lumbridge to be disproven. RuneScape did diversity well, from medieval Europe, to the Arabian desert, to the tribes of Africa, to the Germanic Barbarians, savage Scandinavian vikings and dozens of other inspirations.

Nobody asked for this update, it was just the decision making of the investment group for a greater ESG score, EG; better score for investors. Sad that even a game from the UK has to bow down to the American system. Shame on you Jagex!

This is a fad, a fad that im sick of, one of the most annoying and dumb fads ive ever seen in all my years. "everything is racist because of blank reason" thats the fad. Come up with a reason, any reason at all, yup its racist. So sick of it, can't wait for it to die out.

Nobody had a problem with diversity in RS for 20 years. Now its a problem and stuff must be changed.

Why does every single game/movie/tv show/company HAVE to have gay/bi/asexual/trans characters in it?
what, is it somehow offensive or breaking your immersion with them not being in a medieval fantasy setting?

And just because something *can* be added into the game does not automatically make it an improvement just because it lines up with your personal beliefs.
By your logic because the game doesn't have Christianity in it then clearly there is "room for improvement" if they remove all the lore about gods in game and replace it with Christianity right?

Or to sum it up real simply:

Stop bringing real life problems and issues into a fantasy game just to appease 1% of people.

The November update yeah, it really annoys me how they ruin game lore to go and make changes the majority never asked for just to pander to 1% of people.

Like the recruitment drive fight was a nice reference to lotr and the only interesting thing about the dwarven consortium was that there were requirements for specific groups.
Plus it makes literally no sense that your given rulership over a kingdom just from being the "best friend" of royalty.

Why does every company lately feel the need to force real life politics into media/games that are meant to be an escape from real life issues?

If they refuse to use their polling system when breaking lore then Jagex have at least gotta learn what "vocal minority" means.
But then again, why use the polling system when you know that not even 5% of people will actively vote yes to something like this.

What’s demonstrably false is people wanting “more queer stuff” actually no that’s just YOU and the two other comments are against it. So I highly doubt that people really want “more queer stuff”

there has been this in game for a long time anyway.

Ysgawyn and elf that was introduced in 2005 ( a male) had a husband which was revealed by Arianwyn (released in 2004) so queer characters have been in rs for a long time.
