Hello! Just a few questions about reporting abuse and the best ways to do it.

Whenever I'm at the Grand Exchange I always see bot spamming advertising websites that offer Inferno services. I make sure to report them but is the best way to do it to report that they are Advertising Websites or are they Selling / Buying Account Services?

I am also curious about those bots that seem to be for Player Run Games of Chance. When I report those for games of chance, does the fact that they use special characters matter? Will it somehow surpass a rule breaking detection?

Should we be reporting players that advertise fake drop parties and a Youtube search designed to phish your password?

For offensive account names, is there a guideline of what is considered to be offensive? I've seen some disgustingly inappropriate names that just have no place for Geilinor and I report them but rarely see that they get changed.

Thank you!
Carry 29 Shrimp?! Are you crazy??

Carry 27 shrimp and 2.1 billion cannonballs? Now that I can do...

Either one works there really - the JMod reviewing the report will apply the appropriate offense on their end, the important part is that they get the report capturing the text that they can review.

That's likely more for avoiding Chatwatch (Jagex's automated chat monitoring tool - the fact that the pattern of those special characters changes regularly tells you the system is working). It won't impact the outcome of a manually reviewed report, they'll be able to see exactly what is going on.

Yes - most of the time those accounts are hijacked (they fell for the same scam they're advertising). Reporting them brings them to Jagex's attention and they will make sure they are secured for the owner to recover.

In general, if someone is advertising something that will put others in danger, you should definitely report it.

I think the best advice here would be the following: If you feel the name is inappropriate and shouldn't be in the game, then its best to report it. If Jagex feels its OK per their internal guidelines, they'll leave it be.

I think they'd much rather deal with name reports that aren't offensive than not receive reports about those really bad names out there that have no place in the game and have those names cause upset to other players.

Hope that answers your questions. :)
