You missed the point, I was trying to insult the age of retro things, not talking about actually developing the graphics engine or something.
So let me put it again in a way you can't misunderstand: I am a customer. I want cosmetics that please
me
. That is what customers do, they spend money on things that please them. I do not like this cosmetic, aka it does not please me, therefore I do not want Jagex to spend time on doing it. Instead, I want them to spend time on doing cosmetics that do please me, such as finally releasing that shadow gorilla thingy that they showed us months ago.

If Retro items are in more popular demand than your shadow gorilla, then the retro items should take priority because they're more profitable for Jagex to work on.
So let me put it in a way that you can understand:
Players are customers. Players want cosmetics that please them. If they would prefer one cosmetic over another cosmetic, Jagex should spend time doing what players want them to. Jagex should not spend time working on something that pleases only a few people, such as the shadow gorilla. Instead, they should focus on Retro items as they are in higher demand.
