Apparently I’m supposed to write a recruitment thread for my clan Tree Hunters. I have no intention to try and recruit as many players as possible into the clan, as everyone looks for something different in clans and I can’t possibly offer the perfect clan for everyone. This thread is to show you all that this clan exists and what it’s like. Should you decide that this clan matches what you are looking for, you’re welcome to come guest and see whether we really meet the expectations. If we don’t, no hard feelings, it happens.
So…what’s it like then?
Tree Hunters is a stable and old clan. There are clanmates from all over the world, some young, some old, some pretty much ancient. Many are skillers, although there are a few clanmates active in PvM as well. The levels of the clanmates vary from low to high to crazy pures and ironmen, yet no matter what level they are, they will always be happy to congratulate someone when they level up. Every single one of them would sooner call themselves noob than call others that, making it a very friendly and non-competitive atmosphere.
If I were to describe my clanmates, I’d say the most fitting description is gentle. They are there to be happy for you when you get a specific drop or level, or feel for you when your ironman dies or when you’re having an awful day. There are clanmates that can perfectly finish any Princess Bride or Lord of the Rings quotes you might throw in the chat, that know more movies than you can possibly imagine, or that reply with the most witty puns.
From my point of view, this clan is very relaxing, friendly, and not demanding at all. More than a year ago I chose to pick up the stick to lead this clan so I could continue guiding it in that same direction and protect those values. If you are prepared to respect my clanmates like they will respect you, you are more than welcome to become a part of this clan too, either as guest or ranked member.

- We can offer you a chat with 100+ friendly players where you can ask your questions, share whatever achievements you got in-game or just have a nice chat about random things.
- There is a tier 7 citadel with a dragon, 3 avatars and a special avatar system, allowing everyone to be able to enjoy the avatar benefits at any time.
- Capping is not necessary (we know that capping can be a real chore for maxed players), though if you do want to help out in the citadel, that is much appreciated.
- You will not get kicked from the clan or lose your rank should you go inactive for a while (real life happens, and sometimes players just want to take a break from the game).
- There are events every now and then, like PvM, skilling competitions or secret santa. It’s not mandatory at all to attend these if you don’t feel like it.
- Especially during PvM events, we have a dedicated Discord channel as well.
- Basically: a non-demanding chat for a bit of peace of mind
What
can’t
we offer?
- Die-hard PvM. We’re not a PvM clan, and while you might be able to find a partner for Reaper tasks, we don’t have many Raids, AOD or Vorago experts.
- Continued chatter in the clan chat. We have a lot of clanmates and we sure do talk and have fun, but there will be moments that it’s quiet and everyone is just doing their thing in-game.
- A chat where you can say whatever you want. As I mentioned before, my clanmates are gentle. Excessive swearing, racism, drugs discussions, looking down on others and similar things that are bound to upset players are simply not welcome.
- A position in the biggest strongest clan of Runescape. I don’t have ambition to become the leader of the biggest clan. All I strive for is a comfortable place to hang out in while playing, one that doesn’t revolve around drama or getting most XP/kills/money.

Most players are ranked between recruit and general. There are ideally 4 silver admins and 2 gold admins in the USA, EU and Aussie timezone. These admins can temporarily rank up players with a minimum rank of Corporal to bronze admin, enabling them to take out an avatar. Once those players are done with the avatar and ask their old rank back, these admins will rank them back.
Everyone starts out as a recruit. After ~a month, those who are considered active (e.g. those who chat, attend events or cap in citadel) and haven’t been stirring drama, will be ranked up to corporal. At this point these players will be able to request temporary rankups to the ‘avatar rank’ for the purpose of taking out the clan avatar.
Further ranking until general goes the same manner: very low demand, but there is a certain minimum waiting time between rankups (it takes e.g. at least 3 months to go from Captain to General). Whether you’re General or Recruit, there are no mandatory chores.
The gold and silver admins are a fixed group of players. Should we need an extra player in one of the timezones, that player will be picked by the gold admins and the key ranks.

At the present moment, the leader of the clan happens to be me. Don’t ask me why, it’s a long story and wasn’t quite something I aimed for, but it seems to be working and the clan doesn’t appear to be burning down. There are two deputy leaders: Boneshaker (who always has ideas for events or other things to add to the clan) and Pah Psi (keeps an eye on the citadel and seems to know when Jagex updates clan-related things). I don’t think it’s possible to fully express my gratitude to both of them for all their support with the clan within this post, so let’s just say they are amongst the most reliable players I have come across. We make the final call with clan-related decisions and we basically do all the chores like updating this thread, clan rank lists, write up announcements, etc.
A good decision can only be made with enough feedback and information though, which is where the gold admins come in. Together, the gold admin team covers pretty much all timezones. We run all rankup suggestions past the gold admins before we make a decision, and most clan changes are first discussed with them as well.
Any clanmate is welcome to share suggestions or ideas regarding clan management. Should you feel that I’m too scary to approach (which I hope to avoid but meh, it can take a while to realize how easy-going I am), you can always reach the gold admins or the deputies to throw it up for discussion.
Rules:
Basically, all I ask from you is:
- Play by the Runescape rules.
- Don’t upset the other clanmates.
Yes, that's all. I don't feel much for a ton of rules, just be nice to the other clannies.

Where does the name Tree Hunters come from anyways?
Tree Hunters started out as a community friends chat for the purpose of helping players find and defeat evil trees. When clans came out, the leader at the time decided to create a clan with the same name for the ranks of the friends chat. Many years passed since then, years where players joined and others left, where leadership changed hands, where the friends chat and the clan chat got different leaders. Through all these changes the clan has remained surprisingly stable (I know right?) and is still going strong under the name Tree Hunters. At this moment the friends chat is not a requirement any more to join the clan or to get ranked up, though we will never forget our roots (ha, pun) lie in that friends chat.
Interested?
If you’re still reading after all these posts, I can only assume there is at least the slight bit of interest. You can always join Tree Hunters as guest and if we indeed get along with each other, you can either ask to join the clan as ranked member or wait for an invite from us. There are no stat requirements to join, if you fit in, you fit in. No need to make that more complicated

Oh Samo, can I please add a line about our highly valued acorn stash?
The more we have, the bigger our chances that some evil ones will be among them, safeguarding our supply of evil trees!
Looking for an evil tree?
Tree Hunters
is the place to be!
