Would rather see no bots and a dead game then see bots running wild with level 120 in a single skill.
If you have many doubts that the things you see are suspicious you are free to report said individuals.

Report a player ... <- (link) to '

All help you can offer is welcome and there's no error in reporting your suspicion. If your report isn't right Jagex/JMods just will put it aside.
If your report is correct your efforts will make this game better.

In-game reporting doesn't do anything at least on Old School; see 285-286-938-66283406

Jagex happily let a spammer continue the same 4 messages for over 4 hours after about a dozen manual reports.

I doubt you would. You're on RS3 complaining about bots? That's a new one :p

I have about 1800 total level on RS3 and I don't recall ever having seen a bot. Granted I'm not looking for them, but bots on RS3 apparently are nowhere near as-blatant as OSRS. If a bot is moving around the world doing something and not saying anything, how would I know they're a bot aside from inspecting them and observing their behavior?

It's clear-as-day in OSRS with trails of bots following each-other with gibberish names, in hotspots, and auto-typed messages. I haven't seen that in RS3.

Players do forget that you do not need to report the same player over and over, 1 report is sufficient.
The moment Jagex/JMods do take action is not determined by your report or that of others. There are more variables that trigger action of Jagex/JMods.

Yeah my bad, I thought Jagex would have taken action at least within the first hour after a report of an active spammer, but it's good to know they really don't care about the number of reports.

Just waste time reporting once and get back to the game! 1 or a dozen+ reports to /dev/null all end up in the same place in the end :p I see why RL defaults that button to a timer.

I see auto type messagers in the Grand Exchange alllllll the time it's quite annoying, there are quite a few bots running around I've seen them which is why I'm mad at drop rates being so crap when other players can bot and abuse bugs to make huge bank, it's unfair to us to then get our weapons and spells nerfed due to cheaters who don't get perma banned instantly, see the issue?
