My hero pass suggestions (I hope this reaches someone on the team in a timely manner, but I don’t do Reddit).
Make it bi-annual instead of quarterly with the same time table on levels and rewards. Giving players 2x the amount of time to complete a lot of these items makes it a lot more obtainable, and reduces burnout of the constant ness of quarterly. It would also allow more players to obtain the cosmetics, as well as have the rewards last longer after actually obtaining them. In this system you wouldn’t have to reshuffle the xp reward tiers.
Daily challenges, the new system for daily challenges is fine if you bring back the better rewards. Increase the xp payouts significantly, and offer the keys again but keep the daily’s in hero pass. I suggest large lamp for easy, large lamp for medium, and large lamp +3 th keys for hard. This will satiate people getting close to the same xp as one would have gotten from the old daily challenges, and give the same keys. It also reduces the keys coming in game by making it about 10x harder to obtain (length of daily) so there should still be more incentive to purchase keys.
How then would you better monetize battle pass?
Perhaps the nicest cosmetic that you need to spend 5000 points to achieve would then be higher, perhaps even double, and the premiere section of the tiers would give more protean rewards as well as or perhaps in its entirety more of the points for the cosmetic shop. I would say to the point where you don’t have to go beyond 120 to achieve the set.
Have a good one jagex. I know it’s rough trying to make your ownership group happy without alienating the playerbase, and I’m sure that you told them it wouldn’t be received well and they said try anyways.
