I get the concept that botting is bad and everyone should play legit; but I've been on the Workshop-speciifc worlds smelting bars and doing my own thing and have
never
noticed bots. How specifically do you notice them?
I have no problem with bots doing their own thing and staying quiet, because how else would I really know they're even there? Bots on OSRS are notably more loud and actively disruptive, and are clear-as-day with that generic clothing style, gibberish names, and trails and stacks of them doing whatever in hotspots, but even with that I only have an issue with the ones that are auto-typing messages. Those are immediately disruptive and so easy for Jagex to remove and yet they don't (see 285-286-938-66283406).
I want Jagex to focus on the actual auto-chat bots first. Bots gathering resources are funded by players using the GE and RWT, so it's obvious
the players
are the ones that want bots to be around. Bots and casual players buying gold aren't doing chargebacks, and are even giving Jagex money in some manner, so why would Jagex intervene any more than they are? I'm not impacted by that (btw
) so I really don't care if that continues. Ironman is the only integrity in either RS game as far as I'm concerned.
I
am
impacted when bots auto-type multiple messages continuously and my only option is to add them to a list that actively breaks
my
official client bad enough that Jagex had to implement an auto-clear filter for it lmao. I have particular issue with the ones auto-typing RWT URLs. This is not happening on Workshop worlds, or anywhere afaik in RS3.
