I read on wikipedia how to recovery. There says to talk do Zanik. I did talk to Zanik, but he dont give me the key back. I've tried all chat options

Try checking the quest chick by varrock lodestone might find it there

According to the wiki, the key's destroy option states:

The Horogothgar priest probably has a spare.

I'd try that if Zanik or the lady by Varrock's lodestone can't help (assuming you're playing RS). The destroy text is the same on OSRS if you're playing that.
