Hi guys,
I just wanted to leave a note as I have almost 6000 hours of in-game time on this account and felt I should at least share my thoughts on the current competitive state of RS. I feel as if RS3 really lacks a variety of competitive modes/active group content (dead minigames, zero meaningful PvP activities, Dung being a dead skill, etc). This is obviously a known issue, however, I've recently started an account on OSRS out of boredom of RS3 and was blown away by the competitive/meaningful Minigames/PvP content on OSRS.
OSRS obviously has many more active players but it is certainly clear that there are so many more options of competitive gameplay (so many active minigames, PVP content, etc). It was exactly what is missing in RS3. It was refreshing to see how active Last Man Standing in OSRS is. Why doesn't RS3 have its own version of content like this? I believe adding more competitive content (with coveted rewards, of course) to RS3 would bring more players to the game and add a more competitive nature to the game.
The Wilderness rework was clearly a flop (apologies Devs, graphics look nice though!). I disagreed with adding the option to turn PvP off, however, I would have accepted this option if it was clearly much more efficient to have PvP enabled (xp buffs, drop buffs, restricted non-PvP players from certain drop tables, etc). I would have loved to see Wilderness bosses (Risk/Reward scenarios) like OSRS (of course, an RS3 friendly version). This would have added much more value to going into the Wilderness (both as a PvE player and Pker) and a little more of of excitement/adrenaline pump along with it!
Just wanted to put this out there to see if anyone else feels the same. I love RS3 and OSRS, however, OSRS seems to scratch that competitive itch that I wish RS3 was able to do!
Thanks!
