In past years, purple presents have NEVER been members only during the Christmas event(s). Now Jagex has changed it. This is just disgusting. They are being excessively greedy and it has to stop. This is Christmas for crying out loud, you should be giving, not trying to sucker people into buying membership! Change it back! This is absolutely horrible, why have purple presents as a daily login reward when many players can't even claim them? Make the purple presents f2w again! I'm going to keep posting this in as many parts of the forum as I can, because this is something that needs to be reversed ASAP and Jagex won't take notice unless a lot of players are complaining. So go and complain, complain as loud and obnoxiously as you can! Tell Jagex to take their hands off our presents!

Totally agree with this - as a suggested compromise, perhaps only accounts with a minimum total level and/or playtime would be eligible? perhaps also link this to the trade limit (so the account would have had to have membership at some time in the past) - active membership would still fully-activate the ability to open presents. Things may be looking down now, but I see a light at the end of the tunnel;
Do you think I should get off the tracks?

I'm pretty sure Jagex accounts make it easier to cap the use of alts. Instead of punishing F2P by making their holiday event experiences suck even more, they should directly address the alts issue if that's what's going on. It'd also help to make events less reliant on rares so that paywalling everything to do with them won't ruin events for F2P in the first place.

The rare economy just makes things suck for most of the playerbase. I hate how rare and MTX centric events are becoming. How to block a forum user

Totally agree with op, why hide the truth, very bad Jagex, lets not forget that f2p cant even give Santa his letters, if they were trying to entice in players, make the event more fun and don't scam them with gifts they cant get or use. it should be fixed and I am a paying member, who paid cash to play, if the game developers were going to crap on the free players like this event , it should have been totally member only, disappointment does not bring in new players.
