If there is a current log in issue, or any known problem affecting game play, there should be a clear notification on the runescape homepage. A user should not have to go thru multiple screens starting with the support link to find out about known issues. They should have a message window built within the game login frame where they can quickly enter a notification about current login issues. Leaving players to assume the problem might be at our end, while we waste our time trying to troubleshoot the problem is very poor game administration and obviously shows that Jagex has no consideration for the players.

When log-in servers go down, then even Jagex staff are unable to login to post updates to the main page. However, they are able and do post updates to the Support Centre

I have been having issue with login on, slow loading, freezing up, and the game crashing. Date 12/27/2022. it is becoming annoying.

When log-in servers go down, then even Jagex staff are unable to login to post updates to the main page. However, they are able and do post updates to the Support Centre Perhaps they need a dead mans switch for cases such as this.

If the connection ever goes down, the website automatically updates with a pre-generated generic note stating that there may be server issues ongoing at this time.

This will serve the function OP is asking for, whilst not requiring anyone to access the website to make any changes.
