Just lost everything of value in my account even though I have an authenticator installed and no one has access to either of the devices I play on but me…

Get your security sorted Jagex, it’s a joke that someone can access my account without access to my authenticator.

authenticators do work

you were most likely hacked and they bypassed it due to lack of security elsewhere. such as your email.

securing your device
Phishing websites and suspicious emails
boost account security
getting secure

So someone can instantly disable (and re-enable, because I still require it to log in) my authenticator with my account details? Then why are authenticators suggested since they require no effort to get around?

they require a lot of effort to get around. such as hacking the email thats on your account. if that email is properly secure also with an authenticator then you are secure

i assume your email doesnt have that (dont need to answer this this is all for your own understanding)

they are suggested because authenticators work.

there are ways round them sure. nothing is 100% secure. the thing that makes things not secure isnt the company its the user. and i dont see this to be an ass hole. im saying this because for you to be secure for now and the future you need to find where that weak link is and get it secure so it doesnt happen again and doesnt happen on something far more important than a rs account. blaming jagex isnt going to help you.
